Is anyone else going through some serious Ke$ha, Katy Perry, and Britney Spears phase??!

It first started with Tik Tok, then it was California Gurls...and then came We R Who We R, Teenage Dream, Firework, ET, Blow, Till the World Ends....I just can't stop listening to them!

Not at all. My taste leans towards more unique, more innovative, less mainstream, stuff you don't find in heavy rotation on American radio or MTV. Real talent is out there, you just need to search a little harder for it.

Yes! Despite my punk rock roots in college, I've turned into a total pop-music-obsessed gay boy over the last couple years :/
Also, the new remix of Til the World Ends featuring Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha is so hot. Throw in some Rihanna and you've got my all American dream team right there ;)

    Not me.

I dislike them all. If they get a chronic vocal cord disease/condition to prevent them from singing ever again, I wouldn't consider it a bad thing.

Ke$ha just sold out an outside 7,000 seat venue here for a show in September. I worry about what that says about our world in musical sense.

It means you can find 7000 people to buy anything. Considering the population of your own city, that's a drop in the bucket (and I'm sure the draw was in the greater KC area, right?)

None of the above. Not Kesha (I refuse to spell it with a dollar sign), Katy, Britney, Nicki, or Barbie. All revolting in their own ways.

Yeah, I can't get on board with Britney's new album. And Katy Perry has been worn out. California Girls, Fireworks, Teenage Dream have been overplayed. And Kesha, hell no.

It's funny how they're the break in my music taste or just good background moving music.

    Rise Against
    Ke$ha
    Skrillex
    Gaga
    Silverstein
    Nicki Minaj
    Boyce Avenue
    Natalia Kills

    That's what just happened. lol.

Been always a Britney fan, since 1998 and will continue to be one until I die. It's been a continuous phase since her career started 13 years ago.

I go back and forth with KP, because I thought her "I Kissed A Girl" single was just pandering and stupid, although I really liked "Hot N Cold". With the new album again I thought "California Gurls" was silly and mediocre, but "Peacock" won me over (even if it will never get any radio play.) However, "Fireworks" really grates on my nerves though for some reason.

Stopped being a Britney fan a long time ago. I just don't get the gay boys' continuing attraction to her. IMO her last good song was "Toxic".

Reluctantly I like some of Ke$ha's songs; but I still think she probably doesn't bathe.

    Hipster.

I kid I kid. I kinda agree with you, I listen to more talented acts obviously, but I see Britney, Kesha, and the rest as more "fun" artists. No real talent, just catchiness and fun.

What I have for Britney is not a phase.

I could not stand Kesha, but she is wearing me down.

Katy Perry? Meh. I like her songs more when they're sung by the Glee cast.

Haha just my opinion but for me Brit has hit an all time low Ke$ha is ok but Katy is really doing her thing. And if I could just throw in two more Beyonce and Gaga are also fucking up (imo of course). So Katy wins!

I have CDs from all 3... and have decided that the rapper key-dollar sign-ha is one of my favorite rappers.

in regards to an earlier post I did get them (CDs) because they are supposed to be "fun" artists. If I'm looking for singing ability I turn over to Florence and the Machine or Paramore, heck even Elvis and Queen.

Uh, no. I enjoy some Pop. And I enjoy Katy's Teenage Dream and Firework, but it's not a phase. Ke$ha annoys me. And Ms. Spears is all over the place -- I haven't listened to her new CD, but nothing I've heard so far gets me fired up.

Adele, on the other hand, now there's a singer I can listen to over and over again. And she doesn't need her voice to be massaged by any electronic devices, either. The only thing she doesn't do is dance. And with a voice like hers, she doesn't need to.

I used to hate mainstream music but suddenly this new pop-electro genre is gettin' to me! It's just so fun, especially if you crank it up. icon_biggrin.gif
