bushido please read this

    bushido is the code of the samurai that iv been following and its helped me alot hope it helps
    there are 7 rules and they are justice,courage,benevolence,politeness,sincerity,honer,
    loyalty hope it helps you as much as its helped me

    That's kinda cool. I don't think most people follow a for-real written down code much these days.

    That's the differences I've been chewing on with the rise of MMA is it's code or lack of one. Within the space of a couple of days a few months ago, I heard two martial art masters from two different disciplines (aikido and BJJ) say that the ultimate goal is 'to remain undefeated'. That is, self-preservation.

    All the 'Do' form martial arts focus on self-preservation and self-perfection, whereas MMA seems to be about 'asserting your will' on someone. That quote comes from Matt Hughes and other MMA fighters and coaches. That's fine for the octagon, but not so much for society.

    I have a copy of The Code of the Warrior by Daidoji Yuzan.. it's kind of a very basic introduction to bushido. It's in the group of books I'm going to start reading once I've finished the 4 that I'm currently reading concurrently. icon_smile.gif

    Kind of related, another good book is "The book of five rings" by Miyamoto Musashi.

    i dident get this from a book i learnd thease rules in my time in japan and still do and ya colbert i hear ya i no some mma guys and thair all about hurting people and fighting becuz all they learn is the physical and not the spiritual or eaven mentel side of martial arts all yin and no yang you no what i mean
