There have been some surprises in the first round, but macs/lakers and heat/celtics should be...to quote charles barkley....barn burners. Okc and Memphis should be good and i am hoping for the "new blood finals": chicago versus Okc. Rose versus westbrook and durant versus deng. That'd be some fun! I'm sad for the spurs...all that winning and getting handled mightily.

It'd be a shame to see Dwight Howard denied the opportunity to face the Bulls in the next round, but in earnest, I'm kind of indifferent to everything about the NBA this season.

I think it probably stems from the fact that it seems like the NBA rules on tampering were violated with the creation of the Wade-James-Bosh line up for the Miami Heat...and the NBA did nothing about it.

Of course it didn't help matters that there were suggestions made that Chris Bosh sat out games he was physically able to play (the Raptors missed the playoffs in 2009 by 1 game), or that whole Lebron James "the decision" fiasco!

But I like KSUOWL...and he got a really rotten break with the Falcons...so I'll root for the Hawks to do well this year. ;)

Unfortunately however, I think that the NBA title will belong to the Lakers again this season. icon_sad.gif

I'm kinda bummed out watching the playoffs because neither my Jazz or Cavs made it. With that said, the games have been really exciting. I love seeing the Spurs on the brink of elimination, the Knicks swept, the Lakers having a rough time. Too bad the Heat are gonna win their first round series, hopefully the Celtics will sweep them in the 2nd round, but it's all dependent on Shaq's health. The team that I'm rooting for this playoffs is the Magic, because I'm now obsessed with JJ Redick, and I think they are gonna come back to win the series after being down 3-1, but they need to learn how to stop shooting 3's all the time, and J-Richardson needs to stop getting in fights. I think Orlando could beat the Bulls because D. Rose isn't 100%, and guys like Boozer have been known to disappoint in the playoffs. Oklahoma City is a fun team to watch, but I think they're a little overrated, mainly because as good of an athlete R. Westbrook is, he makes a ton of bad decisions and shoots way too much.

This is what i got from the first round....

    For the West:

Spurs are trash. Mavericks are just gonna be the mavericks of years past in the playoffs. Lakers are pretty vulnerable. OKC is a true contender. Nuggets have no chance. Blazers are a pretty dangerous team, kinda hard not to be when you have LaMarcus catching oops all day then draining the midrange J. Hornets can only get as far as CP3 can take em. And the grizzlies are just too athletic for the aging Spurs.

    For the East:

I love D Rose and the Bulls but the supporting cast has to step up if they wanna make some real noise. It kills me to say that the Celts are looking dangerous. Heat are gonna be very dangerous if they can play D like they are known to. Magic can't lean on dwight forever, they need to make their 3s. Hawks are the usual hawks, very athletic and almost bipolar...Knicks suck haha. 76ers need a few more years and a good down low player. Pacers got lucky...

Choice for the finals from just seeing the first round:

    OKC Thunder vs Boston Celtics.

Lakers will take the West.. Boston will take the East.

LA will go onto to win a three-peat. Long Live Phi Jackson

Well, right now the blazers haven't been doing nearly as good as the good ole days. Paul Allen needs to lose some of his millions and get some young, strong players.

As for this year, I say, o k Portland, let's get the lead out. Soundly defeat Dallas back up in Portland at the rose garden, then continue the hustle back down in the "big D."

Put plugs in your ears and we'll bring some blazermaniacs down from Portland, and finally put Dallas out of their misery.

So...let's go Blazers! Push this series to 7! Play all 4 quarters and you win.

they just have to change their mentality. its the same thing that happend in the play offs last year. and judging by their win last night i'd say they're kicking it up a notch.

    Go Hawks!

And how about that Gary Neal? Even if they're about done, the Spurs prove time and again that you gotta take your second round picks and your undrafted Free Agents pretty seriously.

I'm a Spurs fan. Been a fan of them ever since they drafted David Robinson and Sean Elliot. No team has done it with more class than the Spurs and they have continued to draft high quality players.

It looks like TD is on his last legs though, it was a great run.
