If you were given a choice between a great successful career or the love of your life, which would you choose?

The older I get the more I feel I'd lean towards career. It's the logical choice.

Having said that, I'm happily in love and am in the process of turning a job into a great career.

What's the alternative if you pick love? Unemployed, or in a crappy dead-end job that'll make you bitter to the point of careening your great love to a break-up?

    You beat me to it.
I'd pick career over "love" ANY day.

Career, because holy shit if I could make enough money to survive by becoming an Editorial Stylist (highly unrealistic because they get shit pay) then I wouldn't need a partner because I'd be in love with my job.

Go for love. Careers won't keep you warm at night.

    Love.
I make enough to pay my bills without a problem and I know what makes me happiest.
    Life is short.

Make yourself a blanket of money from your successful career.... maybe that'll compensate for the lack of love, and keep you warm at night.

i would pick career. it seems like love can come along at any time, but a career is something you have to work towards.

at least this way if you worked towards your career, then "love" will just happen when it happens.

Love. A career will not motivate me to find love, but the love of my man will motivate me to support us as I know he would do as well.

As Robin on "How I Met Your Mother" put it...'Take it from me; I'm someone who has frequently chosen my career or relationships...and it can make for some pretty lonely nights'

Personally I've always chosen my career over love/trying to find love.
