Well "moving" is really something I haven't experienced very much in my life. I really didn't move when I was in grad school, but carted things back and forth to home.

I got intuned however, at the end of 2004 when we sold our family home and I built a new one. It wasn't a very fun experience (except for the building of my new home). I still have a few things that are not in the best order in my new home even now. I'm a organized, structured person, but I still thought it was a real pain.

PhxAriz08 saidMiami isn't too bad, just like Phoenix but lot of humidity. Miami and Phoenix both have lot of sun shine, interstate 10, and lot of palm tree... lol

Well, except we DON'T have Interstate 10. That ends in Jacksonville. We have I-95 and I-75. Also, we have ocean.

I am moving this Wednesday -- the first time in 12+ years -- but it's only a temporary move! UGH! I'm housesitting for a friend for 6 months while he's out of the province working, and then I hope to be able to buy a place of my own. Luckily the majority of the stuff I am packing can stay packed and/or can be easily repacked.

Tell me about it. My lease is up at my place on the 15th. I leave for Chicago for vacation on the 17th. The last thing I want to do is leave for Chicago and come home to boxes.

    But, I HATE moving

Where the I-95 and I-75 take you?

I-10 runs along the top of Florida, that's as far away from us as Los Angeles is to you.

I-95 goes from Miami up through Richmond, Virginia, Washington DC, New York, Boston, and up into Maine.

I-75 goes to Atlanta, then up through Detroit, ending at the Canadian border in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan (and Ontario).

Moving is a great time to lose a lot of junk tho. Things accumulate over time. And the task of packing, moving and unpacking makes it a lot easier to part with stuff.

Moving is rough - so much to do - all those boxes - I have done it too many times - from my first apartments right out of school, to houses - I'm on number six. 3000 square feet of furniture and books....42 boxes of books alone. Movers get rich off of me.

I'd never move myself, but it is cool helping an appreciative friend move.

I drive an SUV ... so it's almost a given that someone wants either me, my truck, or both to help 'em move.

I always offer, though, b/c I have had such good help on all of my moves. Gotta pay it forward I guess...

I don't know why they call a day where you shlep your crap from one house to another a "moving" day.

I don't find the experience moving at all.

    Climb every mountain...

So I take it that all those boxes were filled with Alcohol.

I will bring those tea towels I bought for you next time I'm in town. I already have dinner plans for tonight.

Nice buildings - great views - looks like you'll never have to close your shutters - you can wake up in the morning and just look straight out over the bay.

I'll bring the Belevedere vodka for the party - and an extra bottle for your housewarming present!
