    Dear fellow realjockers,

The devastation of the tornadoes have hit there area where I used to live. In two counties alone, there are over 150 deaths where I am from. I knew some of the ones that past away. Please keep them in your prayers. Life is short and just thankful for the ones in your life and make sure you tell them how much they mean to you.

    Sincerely,
    Bamaboy_71

Such a tragedy. I am sorry for your losses! I watched videos of the tornadoes and they were just outrageous. You never expect something that powerful down here in the south. Kinda an eye opener because it shows what can happen

How many of these stupid ignorant anti government Teabagger Republicans will refuse to accept any government money and/or help to rebuild their communities ?

um....hundreds of people died dude....low blowicon_confused.gif Apparently you have never had to live through natural disaster

Anyways, this footage is stunning me. I had a very busy week of school this week and was not paying attention to any current events really, besides word of mouth. Now I am trying to get my hands on all I can about this horrible event.

My thoughts and prayers go to those families affected by this monumental, infamous, work of nature.

This is a horrible tragedy , so much destruction and so many lives lost ...icon_sad.gif

This year it seems Nature is taking a revenge on humanity , it started with the floods in Queensland Australia , then a category 5 Cyclone (Yasi) battered Queensland , Earthquake in New-Zeland , Earthquake in Japan followed by the one of the most destructive Tsunami in history ,and now killer Tornadoes in the U.S ......

Barnaboy , my thoughts are with you and with all the families whom life have been altered by these storms ...

    Excuse me.
I have lived through earthquakes, flood, and hurricane. And, my house burned down to the ground, leaving me with nothing but the clothes I wore to school that day.

So it gives you the right to be insensitive to hundreds of deaths? Please dude. Get off your high horse. You are showing your true character

    Never the less.
I was simply replying to the guy who assumed that I had never been through a natural disaster.

It's pretty bad down here. The town of Ringgold, GA is gone. Several F4 Tornadoes touched down in Apison and Cleveland, TN. Some schools are out all next week. Some schools have to share facilities for the remainder of the school year.

If you can, please donate to the Red Cross. Thanks.

Tonight I had dinner with some friends, and one had her niece with her, now living in Florida. She'd gone to college with a girl who moved back to Alabama, and they'd kept in touch. She has learned her college friend was sucked out of her house by a tornado and hasn't been found yet, presumed dead.

I lived in Alabama over 2 years, and had been to Tuscaloosa a number of times. But also to other places that were hit, places you likely haven't heard about in the national news. Below is a picture of a devastated house north of Anniston, AL, where I used to live. It's even closer to Gadsden (30 miles from Anniston), where I bought a car and had it serviced, and this house was right along the road I used to take to get there, so I had to have passed it often.

I know this area too well, and yes, good suggestions to donate to aid organizations to help these people and their communities. I'll see what I can do, not forgetting the less well-known towns like this.

Some of the scariest footage of tornadoes I have ever seen has surfaced over the past few days, particularly the one below. I'm praying for all those caught in the devastation over this past week.
