eb925guy saidJust returned from Disneyland, they're building a big bleacher for the premier with a humungus screen on Tom Sawyer's island. Looks like it would be a very fun time.
Amazing how Disney turned a theme park ride into a major movie series. Do they have the Pirates ride in Disneyland, too, like they do in Disneyworld, Orlando?
(For those unfamiliar with it, the Pirates attraction is a group ride on a towed boat, through a cavernous tunnel that presents various pirate adventures as you glide past, a major set piece being the nighttime sack of a town by the pirates, portrayed by life-size robotic figures. One time my parents & adult sister got stuck in place when their boat tow failed, and they sat there for 30 minutes, telling me afterwards they almost went mad from the endless yo-ho-hoing of the pirates, along with the other loud sound effects that didn't get shut off)
I understand, though haven't seen it, that Disney has since updated the Orlando Pirates attraction to include identifying individual characters from the movies by name & costume during the ride, whereas before I just remember the "animatronic" pirates as being mostly anonymous. A case of art imitating art?
