I have taken up running because I wanted to burn some fat. I usually burn about 500 to 1000 depending on how long in run. I really have started to enjoy it too, I think I am a runner now. I lost 18lbs and on my way to that lean surfer body icon_biggrin.gif

Well, there are 3500 calories in a pound of fat so you can do the maths.
Forget about cardio as a way of "slimming down/burning fat" to compensate for eating too much in the first place. It's not possible.
Cardio is good for fitness but adding lean muscle mass will do a lot more to burn calories than a few cardio sessions per week.

Cardio is a great way to motivate you keeping your diet on track, which is the way you reduce your body fat, but monitoring what you eat.

    Hi there,Dance,
You have to work out how much you need every day to live and exercise. There`s probably help on Realjock with that:weight, level of activity, etc. Then measure what you actually eat, and consume about a hundred, two hundred, three hundred less calories than you`ll need;create an energy deficit. That way you`ll gently begin to lose weight.Aim for no more than two pound a week.It may not sound great, but add it up....
As another poster said, building muscle is a great way to keep up that deficit by boosting your metabolism and lose the fat!
All the best with your training!

    Is sex considered a cardio?
Unless you're with a fattie, then it's lifting!

    Happy Sunday y'all!

Running is the best exercise you can do to burn the most calories. If you are running at an 8 mph pace, you can burn 986 calories in 1 hour. If you add hills or sprints, you can burn even more calories.

In order to slim down, you must burn more calories than you eat.
Cardio is overrated. It's all in the diet.
