Many great guys on RJ helped us through a difficult time last year when we lost our puppy (http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/1119372). It took us a long time to get over losing her, but after a new search I was able to bring home another puppy yesterday. She's already right at home and very happy in our apartment. I just wish Lulu could have been here to meet her as well, but I know she's here in spirit.

We haven't picked a name for her yet, but here's a couple of pics of the new puppy (she was born on January 18th):

Thanks, everyone! She's a Westie, Doug. She's still a little dirty because she was outdoors with her brothers and sisters when we got her.

I got to meet her mother and father when I picked her up and they were both very sweet and healthy - so hoping for a long happy life with this one! I was afraid she'd cry all night but she didn't, so that's a good sign.

How old is she? We usually kept the babies away from other people and outdoor situations where there may be contact with everything from Parvo to Bordetella until about a week after the third set of vaccines. Visitors or anyone else that wanted to handle our 'kids- had to wash hands first and shoes were suspect, so left outside.

She was born on January 18th, Doug. She has one more set of shots before she can make her public debut.

lol, A Capricorn! She'll have a super soft spot for her Daddies, but all others will be viewed as a little bit suspicious.

Let us know what you decide to name her.

Great. I'm sure she will bring much joy to you. One thing I have realized when thinking about the loss of a pet and ultimately getting to know a new buddy: As much as I would long for my departed buddy to be with me indefinitely, I realized if he were, I would never have the opportunity to know my new buddy. This fact helped me realize things work out in ways we may not understand and appreciate the here and now.

She'll never replace Lulu, but I know she's going to bring a lot of joy to our lives. She's already made the place her home and is very happy here. I was afraid she'd cry all night but she didn't.

lol, this was the same experience we had with our Emma (in avatar pic w/Bill).

I think your lil girl likes your smells( you and your man) and could be happy she has her own pack of men to boss around (lol, just wait n see how she wraps you around her little toe with all her cuteness).

    *grins happily*

I am so happy for both of you! I know you were crushed and saddened by losing Lulu, but I understand she would approve!

    Very happy here!

Now for a name..........I love unique ones for pets (needless my Rusty and Hoosier) and I almost had a third cat last summer, but the owner could not bear to part with him. I see him often and named him "Hoboken."

How about "Chelsea" after the cool neighborhood near you?

    Woobie face!!!!!!!

Wow. My guy is coming up on five, and just yesterday I saw a pic of him when he fit in my lap, with room to spare. Now he owns 50% of a queen-size mattress, when he let's me share it.

She's adorable. So dear looking. If she gives you chewing problems, my favorite solution was un-bleached, un-died white face-cloths washed in water, no soap, to get out the sizing. Then rinsed in filtered tap water and rolled into a log/bone, and stuck in the freezer. One at a time given as a play toy the ice soothes teething ache, water hydrates, crunchy quality gives her something to chew that's all hers, and easily cleaned and re-used, plus great way to teach her what's hers and not hers to play with and chew. She'll learn quickly.

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

    NO!
Do not name her Snowy! I hate cutesy dog names- You should name her Bertha. Nice dog- I just hope she wasn't store bought.
