Hi, guys. I haven't been here in a while. Anyway, I would like to promote my online novel, "28 Years and 80 Days". I've been working on it for almost two years now, though even before then I was toying around with what kind of novel I should write.

Without going into much detail, the novel is an autobiographical account (albeit NOT based on a true story) about a gay man in Toronto who tries to rebuild his life after years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his family. I initially planned on setting it in my hometown of San Francisco, but two years ago I went to Toronto for spring break and I fell in love with the city.

The novel is live and online at http://www.scribd.com/alex_sarmiento_3

I have done 20 chapters so far. You can read the texts for free @ Scribd, but if you wish to download them to your computer, it will cost you a small fee. Right now, I'm in college, I'm unemployed, I just got fired from a part-time trivia writing job of one year, I have no worthy job skills, and I live with my parents. Writing is the only thing that I know how to do, so cut me some slack if my work doesn't reach the heights of the "Twilight" saga or "The Notebook". Okay, rant over. :-)

I have had over 1,000 views so far, but no comments, good or bad. I've promoted my novel on my Facebook page, but more people would rather play Angry Birds or Farmville than check out a budding writer's oeuvre.

I'll admit that it's not a perfect piece of work, but on Scribd there are even worse pieces that are selling like hotcakes.

So, please check out my novel. Thanks.
