I would say that's true for stringed instruments. But these electric pianos are pretty impressive. Especially if you run them through something like this:

I'll probably end up buying a yamaha, they seem to have the best key weight, sound, and pricepoint. -

May 04, 2011 12:50 AM GMTHowever piano is a percussion instrument before it's a string. The sound board + hammer create the instrument's actual resonance. It's not until the 7th harmonic when the colours come out. This is a unique quality of acoustic instruments.
Now, I do believe this virtual instrument is decent, but nothing can reproduce analog sound. -
