I don't even go to McDonalds or any other fast food chain for that matter. They are best avoided.

there was a thread about the transgender being beat up at the mcdonalds and everyone posted about how the mcdonalds employees should be fired for not helping... now this happens. someone who helped out got shot to death.

I guess the options are: 1. don't help out and have a petition started against you 2. help out and get killed. and 3. help out and hope you don't get killed.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the person who helped out and got killed was the mcdonalds employee who was fired because of the petition that was setup to get him fired? And the only reason he helped out is because he learned a lesson after being fired for not helping out some in trouble. That would be an epic "OH. MY. GOD. SHIT!" moment.

LOL, exactly. I mean, to break up a fight with a bunch of nut job strangers is a bit insane. That's why when the cops show up they show up in 5 or 10 with guns a batons, not a single good samaritan.

Well..personally I feel the McDonalds along the highways like out here in Colorado that are safe, but there was a McDonalds near my College in downtown Miami and it just didn't seem like the safest one in town.

Unless you go during lunch time, when you go to a fast food place, do the drive-thru. Otherwise, if you have the time to eat inside a McDonalds, you have time to eat inside a better restaurant.

Well, the employee in question that was fired was filming and laughing, then advised the perps to get away before the police showed up.

Perhaps he should have called the police FIRST as a way of helping.

In this new case, the man should have left the restaurant and called police from outside.

This even proves that doing the right thing can still end up with you being the one who suffers.

Bad things do happen to good people, and this is just proof that you need to becareful no matter what your intention is.

None of us were there so we can't really say what happened but...

The Cops did show up so I am assuming someone did make the phone call. If I knew someone had already made the phone call to the police I probably wouldn't feel the need do it again because it probably won't make them show up any faster. Perhaps he knew someone else had made the phone call already so he didn't do it again?

It was shown that they repeatedly left and returned to beat the victim. There were people trying to stop them but they just wouldn't stop. Maybe he told them the cops were coming and that they should leave just to scare them off so they don't continue the beating? If he already had the offenders face on video that can always be used to capture them in the future. When I watched the video I couldn't hear any laughter but I might've missed it.

Its easy to say what someone should or shouldn't have done AFTER the fact since we already know the outcome. It is a lot harder to say the same without knowing the outcome.

Not trying to defend anyone here. Just saying that could've, should've would've is a very crappy game.

Well I just went to McDonald's down the street from me to return a redbox video, and at 9 o'clock people were pouring into the drive thru.

    Don't be so judgmental.

You're in America. Since Monday, you're probably not safe anywhere anymore. To be fair.

Grow some kahunas peeps, something can break out anywhere, even in your friendly, upscale Starbucks
