There is so much gnashing of teeth, beating of breasts and wailing in the dark about being single on here that I thought it might be interesting to look at the good side of being single.

    I will start...

You have the whole house to yourself.

    Next...

Haha, that could be a good or bad thing.

    I like sleeping alone. I can't get a good night's sleep if I'm sharing a bed with someone who isn't a cat.

Every thing on this thread is positive.

Grasp the concept...or...in my best John Pinette voice...get out of line

And it's nice to not have to account for where you've been! Or get annoying phone calls while you're with clients and then have to say in a nice way that 13 phone calls a day, really isn't necessary.

Negative, my friend... its great to be single because I don't have to sleep with anybody!

I mean I could write a whole book on the great things about being single, but I must say, I am getting awfully curious what it'd be like to have a bf.

Not having to be accountable for your time. If I want to change plans, there's no one else to consider. If I want to get up even earlier than usual (I'm def a morning dude, yo) I don't have to worry about tiptoeing around while he's still a-snorin'.

Waking up in the middle of the night afraid and not having anyone there to hold you. Oh, wait...that's not a good thing.icon_cry.gif

Haha I've found many pro's and con's to both... But here's what I love about being single (some have already been mentioned):

    - Having the whole house to yourself

    - It's so much easier to manage your time, because it's just YOU

    - I get to play WoW, uninterrupted icon_razz.gif

    - I can eat whatever I feel like, and don't have to get a second opinion (though this has never been a real problem in my relationships, I usually eat almost anything)

    - Not having to worry about someone cheating on you icon_redface.gif

I actually don't mind being single. And it's not just the open sex thing. I have great friends, and a love & friendship with them that will most likely last forever. Professionally life is good too. So dating & taking in that equal partner into my life isn't easy. Love isn't easy. So maybe a plus of being single is you don't have to worry about having a single main love in your life. For me, I have that love spread across a history with many great friends - that will lead into the future.

I can't really remember, but from times when I've been on my own when the b&c is out of town or I'm off on a trip by myself, I'd have to say it's the feeling of just being Tim and not Tim&Lou.

Most of our friends are people we have in common, so we are viewed as a unit - Tim&Lou (or Lou&Tim).

The freedom to just do what ever you want, when you want, and not have to apologize for it. I would, however, gladly trade that freedom ANYDAY for romance.

ever notice how couples, after a while, look like each other?.....the way they dress...and some couples walk into a room full of people and look like if they left each other's sides, something terrible would happen.....one of the best things about being single is a life of exploration and curiousity and keeping your own identity, instead of dealing with other people's nonsense.
