What are your guys thoughts on this tablet? yay or nay. Im considering to get it since a gaming laptop isnt the best thing to carry to class xD. Its like 400 for the 16gb model and then if you buy it together with the dock thing its 500. Do you guys think its worth the 500.

It's pretty awesome.. Except that all the expansion slots are through the keyboard dock. Might not be a deal breaker for some people. But most people won't want to carry all the attachments with them all the time. The Acer Iconia is decent alternative. Around $450 USD.

Ugh. For my sanity at work I really hope this isn't upgradeable. Looks like a pain to get into.

looks like the best of both worlds, you'd really need a keyboard for classroom work

I <3 my Asus netbook...wouldn't want the pad thingy, though. I like having physical keys to type with.

Looks great. I still love my Viewsonic gTablet though. You can't beat the capability for the price these days. In two years I'll upgrade it when the price of tablets comes way down.

Its heavier and thicker than an iPad2, although the display is better I would say portability is the first thing that should come to mind when getting a tablet. The keyboard(which you have to buy separate) adds convenience and of course an extra 8 hours of use but seriously thats an addon that will take seconds for any third party company to duplicate for the iPad.

mixed opinions I guess, I am not sure if it will be durable with the flipping part, as proven by many flippable dell webcams that cease to function as the wires frey

i hear that the dock/keyboard attachment was going to be compatible with future asus tablets thats what gets me icon_biggrin.gif kinda sways me to get this now and eventually get a newer upgraded one down the road. The ipad 2 is great and all but i still think the ipad can do a lot more the ios isnt just enough for me

Acer and Asus pretty much blazed trails with the netbook. I think they can do it again with low and mid-range tablets. There's no way Apple users are gonna switch. But I think Android tablets could sway some netbook users into upgrading. Only problem is.. not enough apps for Honeycomb. Not yet at least.

Also, it's very likely that Amazon will be launching their own Android tablet soon. They have the Android app store, plus a large catalog of content already.

I have an iPad one I just got last month, the previous generation, and to be honest it has replaced my laptop for note taking in class. Essentially, aside from StarCraft II, my Mac is just sitting in a drawer now. I was considering getting an Android based tablet, but the limitations really fall from the apps. The apps for the iPad make it worthwhile... I got mine for 350 when apple had them refurbished, I didn't really need a camera, I never use mine in my Macbook... If I need to take a picture of something, I'm going to use my phone, not pull out an iPad

Like how is the notetaking on the ipad like what app do you use? cause i just can't see me using notepad (the stock app) for taking notes. Is there an app you use to take notes?
