I heard Madonna's "4 Minutes" once and I hated it, but curiosity overwhelmed me, and I just had to watch the video, leading me to listen to the song again. Now it's stuck in my head and it's growing on me.

    *blarf*

(I will say though, Madonna looks fantastic in that video!)

blegh same here, sadly the song grew on me, but i'm so sick and tired of timbalands junglefever music... all the click & clocks, it's enoughhhh he needs to lay low for a while or come up with a new style.

Overall it is a good song again ... i'm just cranky 'cus
    of exams :p

i feel bad, especially cuz rocco will see me say this:

i'm completely and devastatingly underwhelmed by this song...

i love madonna, so this is irritating. exactly how big does your ego finally have to become in order to think that your song is going to save the world (especially when it doesn't even give a bulleted list of what the problems are that are going to be addressed)? even though it didn't address any actual solutions to anything, at least billy joel's "we didn't start the fire" compiled a list of "issues."

something about this song smacks of self-parody... are they serious? i can't place my finger on the memory, but i saw a movie about a singer who was earnestly trying to save the world with a song, it was really trite and horrible, and somehow this song feels exactly like that.

    LOL, thought the same thing.

The song is mediocre at best. Does grow on you though. And if you are really drunk, which I was. it's hard to tell the difference between madonna and JT.

I'm just so sad about this song... I expected better from Madge

I didn't think it was great, but I didn't find it awful either. The vocals were rather subdued and unimpressive, but I enjoyed the rest of it. Maybe there is hope for a remix.

What the hell was with that rapper in the beginning? He was even doing the 'wiggy-wiggys' with his mouth! That was about the only lame part.

That was Timbaland. He's the producer responsible for exhumation and resurrection of Nelly Furtado and for producing a large amount of J.T.'s better stuff.

Bleerghh. Madonna + JT = fine idea, but I must agree with Soufian. Timbalands beats are becoming really tired. Madonna has always been way ahead of the game.. it's sad to see her jump aboard this long ass train so late.

Congrats Modonna- now you sound just like everything else on the radio!

Hopefully the rest of the album is a little more Madonna-ish.

Terrible video, but the Madonna parts were stellar as usual. She looks incredible!! I don't like her friends though, why is she needing to add rappers and Justin Timberlake to her video, she's a powerful force all on her own. Throughout the whole performance, it seemed as though she had to slow down at times to allow them to catch up. AND WHAT was with the flesh parts showing and them dirty dancing, not with each other, but with grocery store conveyor belts? The song was stupid too, Madonna has got more than four minutes to say the words: she's got the rest of her life--WE ARE ALL STILL LISTENING. Justin Timberlake, on the otherhand, his time is limited, his age is starting to show. And, was it just me or did this song have a strange Beyonce'-ish vibe to it. Shoulda been her not MyDonna.

GuiltyGear: It's the horn arrangement...it reminds me vaguely of Beyoncé and Shakira's "Beautiful Liar."

I love it, duh. BUT i also have always been a fan of Tim from WWWAAAAAAYYYYYY back in the day when he was with Missy and Aaliyah and Timbaland and Magoo. (Up Jumps da Boogie is still my sh!t!)
OH and there's a rumor that Cher will be on Shock Value II.

I've also ALWAYS loved Madonna. That's a well known fact.

Justin grew on me after i saw him in concert (The guy is LITTLE!)

4 Minutes is what it is. To me it's exactly what Madonna said she wanted it to be. She wanted to make a record of music that sounded like what she was listening to, so she called them up and did it. Like it or not, at least she does.

It doesnt move me like Ray Of Light's tracks, but it does move me to want to choreograph, always a good thing.

NOW i will say i have a few of the remixes and let me tell you... they are indeed better than the album version, and i dont offten feel that way.

It don't mean that 4 Minutes isn't my call tone SLASH ring tone SLASH Myspace song.

And the Weedio... The End Of Days NEVER looked hotter!

I like it and bought it from Itunes after listening to the 30 second preview. Is it her best? No, but it is better than 90% of what is in the Top 40 right now (yes we need more Flo Rida!).

Stripper and I were talking about this and as I told him at the time, the initial album version struck me as being very foundational. Having heard a few of the remixes, I can definitely say that the raw material is there. Some of the remixes are awesome!

Madonna's best songs are always like that: a viral component tends to spring from them and bind itself to your mind.
