grandslam8422 saidtheres a gay neighborhood? where is it? lol
The "South End". (note: NOT "Southie")
Boston is pretty walkable and is really great on a good weather day. Get the T Pass for the day (subway) if you plan on doing some sightseeing. If you're up for an interesting walk, do the Freedom Trail... its a long walk, but if you're looking for the neat historical stuff... its a fun option on a nice day.
If you wind up going out to bars, and want a gay scene... Club Cafe is probably your best bet. (though can be a bit , cliquey... especially if you arent going with friends). You also have Fritz (which is a "sports bar" lol), which isn't a bad option either. There's Paradise, on the other side of the river... but if you are in Boston proper, it's kind of a pain to get to if you are just relying on the subway.
There are tons of small restaurants with great bar options in the South End too (28 Degrees comes to mind) -- but frankly, Club Cafe is hands down the most popular... you have a broad range of casual drinks, to dancing in the back. But if you are looking for something more Dance Club... there's Machine down by Fenway or Estate in the Theater District. These 2 are more tried and true Dance Clubs.
