They're going to have to answer to a lot of angry senior voters come next election. Thank you Republicans. You're the gift that keeps on giving.

If they're concerned about the next generation, not so. Besides, it all depends on how the vote is depicted in the campaign ads. Those targeting the Republicans do not have to mention it doesn't impact those who are now 55+.

SB does not realise seniors are not as selfish as he. Seniors put great emphasis on their grandchildren's future.

I base that on teaching at a Seniors' Centre for 14 years.

    That was your interpretation.

When I wrote: "They're going to have to answer to a lot of angry senior voters come next election," you had the strict interpretation that I meant because I believed the impact of the bill would currently effect those 55 and over. My response to your interpretation was an expansion, not a rewriting of my initial response.

Looks like the Obama administration, Democrats, and I are not the only ones with a poor choice of words:

You're saying that the Democrats would lie about the provisions of the act?

Thing is SB, that stipulation is for those who are 55 on the day that the legislation is enacted, (which I doubt ever takes place) then comes gradual reduction in benefits for everyone who follows, also there is pressure from TBag Mama Bachman to take that age for cut off up to 59. This shit will never fly, especially with the fact being known that they are wanting to deepen the cuts for the most wealthy and keep the subsidies for big oil and corps moving business overseas.

The fact is that what savings they're getting off medicare and low income safety net programs is a wash because of the nearly equal give aways to the most wealthy and corps. This is whats driving the repubs town hall disgust, not even Ryan can explain away these facts and he's had no success selling this Medicare cut as going to a system as good as what Congressmen and Senators get. This is all a crock !!

It depends on how something is phrased.

If I tell you that the provision would impact seniors, is that a truth or a lie? It would effect seniors, but not the seniors of today.

There are definitely provisions in the act that effect the current SENIORS

But I LOVE how the republicans in their town halls all try to weasel their way out of this clusterf@@k because that's what it is by saying

It wouldn't effect any of YOU seniors
It only effects the people who are under 55

Errrrrrrrr ........ Like THAT's an endorsement.?

Don't worry .... By the time this rolls around you'll be dead by then and we'll just fleece your sons and daughters icon_cool.gif

And the republicans have the GAUL to say anything against the Obama healthcare plan

    What a joke
