I hate how this video doesn't seem to get the difference between being transgendered and being gay. In the beginning the narrator seemed shocked that a man who identified as a woman and has sex with men isn't considered gay in Samoa and how this is a somehow "radical concept". It's not. In the US those people wouldn't be considered gay either. They'd be considered transgendered (and rightfully so). Being gay means you 1) identify with your biological sex and 2)Are attracted to/pursue members of the same sex.
Other than the fact that Samoan society seemingly accepts and even encourages boys to become transgendered (which I admit is very interesting), I really see nothing extraordinarily different or unique about this at all.
