Essential oil contains the concentrated form of plant vibration, and they can help you induce a higher state of consciousness. The three most recommended essential oils for meditations are:

Rose (Otto, not absolute) also very good for enhancing or invoking romance. Use them with rose quartz you'll see an even greater effect.

    Jasmine

Neroli (you might know it better as orange blossom)

Alternatively, you can put a few drops in your bath, and relax away, becoming one with nature. icon_biggrin.gif

I like to crush basil and lemon grass together, breathing them in during meditation.

I tend to find the oily excretion from opium plants elevates me to an enlightened state of nirvana, try it.

Orange or other citrus fruit oil (grapefruit, lemon, lime) are good for stimulating and awakening the mind. But orange provides the most brightness feelings because it feels so sunny and open. Like a beautiful late-spring day. Especially good after a gloomy or wintery day.

Never tried basil, lemongrass, or opium plants.

Lavender is also very good, specifically targeting the crown chakra.

Try mixing rose and lavender (make sure it's high-altitude French alpine lavender). It is supposed to promote the feeling of divine love. I've tried it...it does, but I'm still waiting for my small miracle. It feels like it's working tho. At least it makes you feel better icon_smile.gif

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidI missed this thread, didn't realize this was started back in May.

I love all the oils and essences mentioned here.

I used to grow jasmine trees in my home. When they budded their hundreds of flowers the smell was so intense that it leaked out into the hallway of my building. I could smell them when getting off of the elevator.

    I love orange blossom. DEEELISH!

Orange blossom is better for the purest form of love - like puppyish innocent kind of love, or the love that a father has for his baby daughter. If you want the more lustful sensual kind, then rose is in order. jasmine is actually the strongest aphrodisiac out of the three though.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidIs it merely color association of purple (lavender/seventh chakra) or is there a similar resonance for that area that the flower and seventh chakra share?

I tend to operate my seventh at gold, like the color of gold Indian jewelry is made from.

Tidbit of useless info: Some people may think that the gold worn by Indian women is cheap because it looks so orange.yellow. But in fact, the actual gold content is highest than most other gold materials which are a mixture with more of other metals. White gold is stupid because it hardly has any gold in it. It has more nickel and other white metals. Indian gold is more like 22-24k.

There's been differences of opinions on that subject. I have read three main colors associated with the crown chakra: purple, white, and gold. But this also depends on who you talk to, because according to some people, we have more than 7 chakras. One example is Katrina Raphaell http://www.webcrystalacademy.com/Trilogy.html She believes in the twelve chakra system.

One more thing, if you guys are interested in pairing lavender with a certain type of crystal, I have two suggestions. One is amethyst (for Wisdom)

    mineralminers_amethyst1.jpg

Another one is Kunzite (for Devine Compassion, unconditional love - this is not the same as the rose quartz induced romantic love. This is the spiritual divine love - The kind of love that connects your source and everything around you. With this kind of love, you'll realize the peace and serenity that is really who you are, inside)

for me it is tea tree oil and shredded red cedar that brings me olfactory joy... so clean and refreshing.
