What type of skin care products should I be using on my face -- just a general moisturizer or something? Last night I saw "Oil of Olay Men" (?) in a store. Just trying to counteract the aging process haha. Gotta minimize those wrinkles!

One thing in my favor: I've never smoked icon_biggrin.gif

    I use anything "Lab Series"

The multi-action face wash and the razor burn aftershave both work great icon_smile.gif

    I Use:
    -St.Ives Green Tea Cleanser *
-Clear pore Cleanser/Mask ( I use it for a mask since it doesn't have Alcohol in it which burns my skin)
    -St.Ives Green Tea Scrub
-Cetaphil Daily Advance Ulta Hydrating Lotion for dry, sensitive skin*
    -Banana Boat Sport Performance Sunscreen.

This is pretty much all I use for my skin care and I don't use this shit every day lol.
As far as wrinkles go. Wearing a Suncreen 50+ RELIGIOUSLY when you go out in the sun (not just when tanning) is a must, because those UVA/UVB rays is what is causing wrinkles,so is the pollution in the world lol.

Also for your age. You might want to incorporate some nice serums icon_smile.gif

I've used the Eminence Organics line for years. A lot of spas use it. My favorites are the Citrus Exfoliating Wash, Black Perlette Grape Moisturizer and the Herbal Eye cream. Also agree with what the previous poster said about sunscreen. I'm outside a lot and always use it, especially on my face. It works. Very few wrinkles for my age.

I used to use expensive cleanser and moisturizer everyday religiously hoping my skin would improve and stopped all breakout. After years of experience and "investment". These are what I use on my face now.

    Water - wash everyday
Dermalogica daily microfoliant - once a week
Terre D'hermes aftershave balm - after I shave

    They work!

I use the stuff they sell at my dermatologists. It's more expensive but the manufacturers have to meet FDA standards that are different than over the counter products.
Using sunblock everyday is also very important. I also use Retin -A (requires a prescrition) because it reduces and prevents wrinkles by stimulating collagen production.
Congrats on not smoking - in addition to that try to eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables, especially those high in vitamins A,C,D and E, and drink lots of water.

So this may sound like a stupid question, is there any scientific data as to which cream works better then the other?

For example, a generic bottle $5 worth of Benzoyl peroxide 10% will make any pimple disappear overnight, better then better then the "So fucking famous as useless Proactive" then only uses benzoyl peroxide 2.5%,

you know Minoxidil for hair (Rogaine or generic same shit...but Minoxidil works)

What actually works in making your face look healthy and smooth?

First, I cleanse with CETAPHIL Daily Facial Cleanser (http://www.cetaphil.com/Products/DailyFacialCleanser.aspx).

Second, I tone with KIEHL'S Yerba Mate Tea Toner (http://www.kiehls.com/Yerba-Mat%C3%A9-Tea-Toner/665,default,pd.html?start=8&cgid=face-toners).

Third, I apply KIEHL'S Abyssine Eye Cream to the area around my eyes (http://www.kiehls.com/Abyssine-Eye-Cream/546,default,pd.html?start=4&cgid=face-lines-wrinkles).

Finally, I moisturize with either KIEHL'S Ultra Facial Moisturizer (http://www.kiehls.com/Ultra-Facial-Moisturizer/351,default,pd.html?start=3&cgid=face-moisturizers) or KIEHL'S Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate (http://www.kiehls.com/Powerful-Strength-Line-Reducing-Concentrate/595,default,pd.html?start=1&cgid=face-lines-wrinkles).

Anything by Neutrogena, Nivea, or Burt's Bees.

You need a cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer.

My skin routine is too deep. But I look ten years younger than I am haha.

Umm hmmm? I Kinda get what your asking.

What causes your skin to look smooth & healthy is by Exfoliation,Removing the dead skin cells from your face to let the new cells through. Exfoliators come in Chemical: Alpha hydroxy acid,Fruit acid & some others; Scrubs: Sugar,Micro beads, Crushed nutshells (big no no as it leaves little cuts in the skin) or Manuel by using a facial brush.

your question isn't stupid just kinda confusing lol

gentle baby soap and moisturize after swimming. Any kind of nonblocking moisturizing works.

I cant afford anything else. And since I'm brown, I dont worry too much about sun damage. icon_biggrin.gif
