I think a lot of people make this mistake.... I know I did when I was younger. lol. The style (brushwork) of Munch's painting is such that one might easily group it into Van Gogh's work.

    Funny.

Milk doesn't really work. Putting a piece of ice in your mouth works pretty well. Try it the next time spicy heat gets to be too much.

And while we're on the subject, Van Gogh was a post Impressionist, people!

"D'oh!" Sorry for the mistake I always thought it was Van Gogh. Thanks for the correction. I goggled Van Gogh but I didn't get anything on The Scream, so them I did Van Gogh Screaming Man and I got some results, I was puzzled by the few results I got on the painting but didn’t think much of it I was still laughing at the video.

Munch's the Scream is probably the most Iconic representation other than Da Vinci's Mona Lisa

But it had been missing for many years stolen ... and only recovered in 2006

    Er, Iconic representation of what?

You saying the Mona Lisa was eating jalapenos too?

The painting probably encapsulates the complete genre of modern horror movies.

Perhaps comparisons to Mona Lisa as icon status are a bit of a stretch.....but this painting always reminds me of Edgar Allen Poe's words from "The Pit and the Pendulum", when he wrote...."the agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long, and final scream of despair." Or maybe when you get a REALLY bad haircut.........icon_lol.gif

...And while we're on the subject...the subject isn't screaming. He's covering his ears to stop the sound of the world screaming at him.

    Munch was crazy as fuck.

And then my non-RealJock friends are surprised I spend time on a "jock" site. We're discussing the brushwork of Munch vs. Van Gogh, and relating Munch's most recognizable work to the writings of Poe.

Well, just your typical jock talk. icon_rolleyes.gif

    And I love it! icon_biggrin.gif
