Can the gay life style be classed as a form of hedonism?

I haven't been "out" all that long, but I don't think there is any one "THE gay lifestyle." Sure, there are certain subcultures that seem rather hedonistic, but the existence of this very site points to another subculture. Is it pleasure-seeking to love playing sports or staying fit? I guess so, but I think one gets so many benefits besides pure fun out of athletic pursuits that it doesn't seem to have the same negative connotation of immaturity that the word "hedonism" does, IMHO.

There's no such thing as a "gay lifestyle."
Well, unless you consider living in a predominately straight world as "gay."

We've got light-years to go before we catch up with the straight people in the hedonism department. Log onto any straight porn site and observe. icon_rolleyes.gif

Depends. If you're referring to those living in the "gay scene" (oh God, I said those words again!), then yes. But of course it's completely up to the individual how they will live their life, like anyone else. I have noticed that a lot of gay men tend be have that "monkey see monkey do" disease. Their lives are all about self pleasuring. It's a generalization but not unfitting either.

We're all a bunch of filthy animals! How unfortunate that all of those virtuous heterosexuals have to share their planet with us!

Cross dressing and other intersexed behavior have nothing to do with being same-sex attracted. So they wouldn't be called, at all.

I have never had a bigger crush on you than right now.

Let's pin Rolf down and do dirty things to him with his whistle.

Trollileo saidOH MY GOD!!! STOP IT!

Rolf isn't my type... :/ If anything, Captain Von Trap definitely has it going on. Or Uncle Max. Best Austrian troll ever.

Max obviously got his strudel packed, but I'm really digging the idea of tying up the Captain's brown paper package with string till he screams out "EDELWEISS!!!" in orgasmic pleasure.

    In answer to your question:

    YES

The name derives from the Greek word for "delight" (ἡδονισμός hēdonismos from ἡδονή hēdonē "pleasure")

Gay, straight, Bi, breathing, running, lifting weights.. whatever makes YOU happy or 'delighted' or pleasurable is hedonistic.

Sitting at home with friends around the pool falls under the definition of "hedonism"...
