What, no "it's complicated" option? icon_razz.gif I like Stephen Hawking's belief model for god, which has absolutely nothing to do with any religion.

I cannot answer the question unless you define "God" first.

Yes I believe in God and know that God believes in me. It's the unseen element that intrigues me.

No, but then you think "where did that very first particle in the universe come from that was responsible for everything after it?"

    But still no.

It depends entirely how you define "God"

An external, patriarchal "creator" who is capricious and malicious...as typified in Judeao-Christianity then no. The big beardy old man in the sky who judges. No thanks. Thats not God, thats mankind projecting all its weaknesses and isms back onto "God". The God we make in our image that satisfies certain needs of the society that creates it.An out moded and well un-thinking concept designed to scare people into faith.

God being the source of all good, the inner light, the conscious, the good witinn all people and beings. Then yes, yes I do believe in God.

    Which god?

Well, whichever one you say; still no. However, I have good reason to believe that there are none.

No, I have faith within. I believe in the universe and the surrounding elements. I think it is always telling us something if you really listen.

My faith is very important to me and I know that God exists for me because I have felt his loving presence and have heard his voice in my life.

That said, the biggest failure of the church is the number of times the church has sat idly by while evildoers use "the Bible" to justify hatred and prejudice. My mission in life is (when the circumstances are right) to reassure homosexuals that God loves us and he made us this way on purpose. What fundamentalist Christians say is a twisting of the loving, caring message of the Bible. Even in the Old Testament there is authority that God honors homosexuals who are faithful to him.

God loves fags, y'all!! Just like you are!

It makes me sad and angry at the number of homosexuals who reject God because they believe he rejected them first. He never rejected us, small minded humans did that in his name.

EDIT NOTE: The sentence above is true, but I need to clarify; I am not mad at gay guys who reject God because they were told that God hates them consider them an abomination. I get mad at Christians who perpetrate this and alienate their fellow man in the name of piety.

Nope. I used to, when I was younger - but I've gone from questioning to agnostic to atheist.

"I beleive for every drop that rain that falls a flower grows" Yes I beleive that there is a force that bigger than we are...we all call it diffrent things!

Sometimes when things go awry faith is all I have to cling to. Without faith there is no hope. I always have "HOPE"!

I absolutely do believe in God but I don't believe in the way most religions have marketed and packaged God. I believe God is far more forgiving than he is given credit for.

    As a Buddhist, we don't believe in god because;

To deal with fear and the unknown, god was created to ease the constant worries of man over a dangerous and hostile world, fear of wild animals, fear of not finding enough food, fear of injury and disease.....Today, you will notice that people become religious in times of crisis. Fear.

Buddha saw that each human being had the capacity to purify the mind, develop infinite love and compassion and perfect understanding. He shifted attention from the heavens to the heart and encouraged us to find solutions to our problems through self-understanding.

There's just no concrete scientific evidence that god existed. As Buddhist's, we suspend judgement until such evidence is forthcoming.

With regard to the existence of God, I am not certain of anything but the ignorance and limitations of knowledge and perspective of human beings. As well as the fact that all of this ignorance is paired with the believe in each individual that he or she is correct in whatever he or she believes. We haven't even been outside of our solars system or discovered all of the organisms in the ocean and we think we have enough information to determine whether God exists and what it would want if it did.
