Interesting yet sort of odd seeing that navy bases etc are federal property aren't they, so why only bases in states that permit SS marriages.

Still a very very big step forward for the US to catch up with more open-minded countries.

    YUP.
The Repubs cock block gay Americans AGAIN.
This is more proof showing which party is on our side - and which party is fighting to deny gay Americans the same equal rights straight Americans enjoy.

You vote for a Repub - this is the shit you're gonna get!

Here is the reversal story. The article states that 63 housemembers signed the measure directing the Navy to 'defend federal law'.

    Here is more info:

    http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2011/05/10/republicans-protest-navys-decision-to-allow-same-sex-marriages-on-navy-bases/

It was the actions of 63 REPUBLICAN members of the House that reversed the okay for same-sex marriages to be performed on navy bases.

    Thanks, Repubs!
    Screw you too!

It's a civil rights battle. One small step at a time. You could just move to Canada! Even the str8 people love gay people here, and everything fun is legal!

We even have an RJ member who voted FOR prop 8!
    And, yes - he's gay.
But, apparently - his love for the Repub party is so extreme, that he had to vote along with his party - and against his own equal rights.

What kind of a person actually goes to the polls to vote against his own equal rights?

I was pretty saddened when I read the news earlier today. I know that not all Democratic representatives are supportive of gay marriage, so when I read the news article which didn't mention the political affiliation, I thought maybe a small few might be Democrats.

I cannot say I'm surprised that all of those who signed the measure are Republican. Pretty sad really.

Typical. Those Republicans sure know what is important. I'm glad they have their eye on the ball. I'm sure with them back in power everything will be "straightened out" in no time.
