I just moved to DC and when I got here joined the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington. I'm absolutely loving it, and I'm really excited to perform with the group!

I know there are choruses around the country and perhaps around the world, so I was wondering who else is a member? How long have you been doing it? What cities? Any good stories to share? I figure there has to be at least a few of us on here!

My boyfriend sings with OGC, Orlando Gay Chorus and Circle of Friends. He's a jock, former Triathlete, but not on RJ.

I can't sing to save my life.

I grew up in the area, so I've had the pleasure of seeing GMCW on quite a few occasions. They performed a few times during my years at JMU in Harrisonburg, VA.

. . . I auditioned in September with the local philharmonic chorus, and performed in two concerts in early December . . .

. . I like it quite a lot and there is a really sweet guy in the chorus I'm hoping to know better . . . maybe in the new year as we get ready for the Verdi Requiem . . .

I just saw this thread tonight. I've performed with gay choruses, including one my partner co-founded. I'm not principally a singer, but rather would do narration, MCing, and dramatic readings.

You might want to ask if your chorus will be attending Gala Choruses in Denver in 2012. Every 4 years this international group of GLBT choruses gathers for over a week of non-stop performances.

The last one was here in Miami in 2008, with 147 choruses attending from around the world, over 6000 singers. Performing on the same stage as my partner, and many of our friends, was one of the great joys of my life. Don't miss the opportunity if you have it.
