It's called The Houseboy. From 2007, small limited budget film. I saw it online so I've no clue were you could find this, it's released by TLA. It's this portrait of gay life, and it highlights a lot of the empty, disenfranchised and numb aspects in certain sectors of gay life. Especially for young gay guys with little support structures around them. Has anyone seen this? I don't want to go into too much detail about it if someone hasn't seen it (which I doubt anyone has really). But I recommend it. It's definitely not your "group of gay guys getting cosmos at the bar checking guys out" type of gay film.

You should definitely check it out, I think it's especially relevant for online communities such as this one.

The most harrowingly honest gay film I've ever seen was probably 'Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild' icon_cool.gificon_lol.gif

Will try and check this out at some point, thanks for the tip! Good gay films are few and far between!

Does anybody know the name of this one gay film:

it's about a boy who is homeschooled until he is 14 (just entering high school)
when he enters high school, he develops a crush on one of his teachers, who happens to be a gay man. the teacher has a storyline involving his ex and such... and there's ALMOST a romance thing involving the 14 year old and the teacher, except the teacher is like "uh you're 14 what the fuck"

The film totally opens like it's going to be cheesy porn or something. There are a lot of silly moments in the movie, which make the really serious ones all the more disheartening.

I just finished watching it and I cried near the end but for the most part it felt like watching a homemade video.

The younger actor and the Director were at the showing I went to at the Atlanta gay film fest.

It's definitely not a feel-good movie, and I couldn't really relate to anyone there, which I guess I should be thankful for, since they mostly seemed miserable.

One of the best Indy films I know, gay or otherwise, is "Parting Glances " from 1986, directed by Bill Sherwood.

No other film ever hit home as hard with me as "Maurice." Same situation just a different era......and I didn't have a Scudder climbing up a ladder to console me.....That took some time. I will check this movie out, though.

Neh i did not mean the sex scenes but some scenes that were erotic...and mostly they have sex scenes quite awkward in movies like this either to support the storyline or to showcase the extremity felt by a character.
