This is really random but I noticed I do it all the time to update myself on any news relevant to lgbt folks...I will type in the word "gay" in the google search bar, then I click on the NEWS tab and read any articles that deal with gay issues...I am sort of a news junkie and read the L.A. Times and NY Times online almost religously so I attribute this daily routine partially to to that and the other because I feel invested in gay people's lives =) any of you do something similar to this?? Do you use other "hot topics" i.e. global warming, abortion, crime, etc... Also are there other news sites you like to browse through?? icon_question.gificon_wink.gif

No, but I copied and pasted a little widget that does that on the front page of my web site. (Not "gay" but key words related to my business.) Sometimes it dredges up press releases from my competitors icon_surprised.gif

I like NPR a lot. I've heard the complaint it has a liberal bias but I think that's bullshit. I think it's just good straightforward reporting. I also like listening to the streams when I'm doing other work.

I like to browse Google News feeds on my phone & elsewhere, they pick up stories from all the major wires (in addition to some small ones), you can tweak it to filter for your interests. Also read the Washington Post on line (being a flaming liberal in VA) plus listen to NPR. Guess I'm a bit of a news junkie too.

I'm a major news junkie too. NYT used to be my thing here, till they began their 20 articles/month limit. I've switched over to the Christian Science Monitor now. I read Guardian occasionally and for news from back home I follow the Hindu.
I usually look up OpEds and politics and Sci-Tech.
I find google news helpful only if I want to check out breaking news or a currently trending topic. Otherwise I prefer going to the websites directly.

I remember back when I was a kid, my bro and I would fight with Dad at the breakfast table because we wanted to read the newspaper. The smell of the fresh unfolded newspaper - what delight! I used to collect news clippings as well! Those were the days! :p

I love to read the news.
But, I don't use any key words to bring up certain topics.
I'm interested in a lot of topics.

I switched over exclusively to Bing, but have never tried the word gay.
