I was watching the news after I got home from the gym this evening and a story about being able to take concealed weapons into bars and restaurants came on. While I am neutral on the issue, what pissed me off so much about this story was the fact that an Ohio representative was complaining about his, i.e. our, Constitutional rights being violated by not being able to take a concealed weapon into a bar and/or restaurant. Cry me a river, honey! It really sucks when your rights are being violated and/or not recognized, doesn't it? Don't give me the whole Constitutional rights speech while you insist on denying other citizens of this great country their Constitutional rights!

    I say: HYPOCRITE!

    Signed,
A frustrated independent voter fed up with American politics and hypocrisy

I would gladly vote for a moderate Republican or a Republican who honestly believes in supporting Constitutional rights for everyone irregardless of your sexuality, ethnicity, religions, economic status, and so on. But, I would NOT vote for this type of Republican, i.e. the one who votes to protect HIS Constitutional rights, and whines and cries like a child when they are being threatened, while denying the Constitutional rights of those he dislikes.

I'm sorry 'sir' but you DO NOT have my sympathy!!!

An honest republican cannot run on those credentials. His party and the extreme right would nail his/her coffin shut.
I gave up my GOP card when they started playing the "I can do it but you cant" game and when the church said "jump, make law based on the bible" and they jumped.. it was over..

Our constitution is incompatible with religious doctrine( ANY religion)

southbeach1500 saidA restaurant or a bar is a private enterprise and the owners can choose not to allow firearms on their premises.

Nobody's Constitutional rights were being abridged.

I totally understand that and support the rights of restaurants to restrict weapons of violence. But I just get irritated when politicians cry about their rights being denied and violated while ardently opposing the rights of others.

I'm not against Republicans or Democrats; I'm simply against the hypocrites in either party.

    I couldn't agree with you more !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its my constitutional right to be able to go into public places knowing that I am safe because idiots aren't permitted to take guns in public places unecessarrily.

I remember seeing Seth Meyers do a bit on the 2nd Amendment and how it should only apply to arms that existed when the Constitution was written, muskets.
The originalists are "oddly" silent about applying their principles to the 2nd Amendment.

How the gun nuts choose to interpret the "well regulated militia" provision of the Second Amendment, is what cracks me up.

I hear ya! It is pretty ridiculous isn't it. So many republicans talk about liberty and freedom and "rights", but then they don't consistently follow what they are preaching. I love calling socons out on stuff like this!
