I Have A Dilemma......

OK, here's my problem. I have a date this coming weekend and I'm not really sure what to wear. He is a very handsome 20-something college guy, very sophisticated, athletic, etc, etc.
I was thinking of wearing black.
Would it be proper for me to wear a black pinstripe button-up shirt with a black tailored gabardine suit coat? Also, could I wear a blue or blue-green paisley tie?...or a solid black tie? If I do wear all black, could I wear just one piece of costume jewelry as a tie tack...or should I wear a real jewel?
With black pants, socks and dress shoes, would I be overdoing it a little? Or should I just simply go casual with a light blue dress shirt-short sleeved, with khakis and slip-ons....with maybe a black baseball cap? Would I be "dating" myself if I were to also wear my original Gucci wristwatch with the green/red bezel?
I don't think that I should wear white....not on a first date, however I realize that first impressions are so very important so any ideas would be simply marvelous. connie_1.gif

Will, you have such a fine ass (evidenced by your pic here). I'd wear those pants you have on - khaki color, it looks like. Those pants look great on you. For a first date, my advice is to lean on the casual side. The all black you're mentioning sounds a bit too much for this first date. Save a dressed up look for another night. A first date is more fun if it is relaxed. How about a good looking shirt to show off all those hours in the gym? Not too tight though. And show that fine ass though and you can't lose!

    cold saidMy advice would be:

    - No suit
    - No slip on shoes

Wear a light coloured dress shirt rolled up 3/4 of your forearm and grey slacks or khaki pants. It really depends on where you're planning on going, but this covers the bases while being just a little bit sexy.

    ...and so are you....8.gif

What you are doing on the date should dictate what you are going to wear. So what gives: Where are you going and/or what are you going to do on the date?

hi m8, yes the arse is very good,!! and great your dating a 20 something guy..it gives me hope...
i'm a stylist but on the other side of the pond from you so what i say might be all wrong ..the most important thing to wear is something your relaxed in, if you dress up and feel stiff..[ in all the wrong places!] it will show...look like you have bothered, but not too much, khaki pants are good but maybe with a t-shirt or polo shirt as its summer, and a light sports jacket of a harrington type with a zip front and a rounded collar..good luck, though you don't kneed to worry gs

Is it an indoor night event? If it is, I think you can dress somewhat formally. Black suit sounds fine. I'm not sure about black tie though...too formal. The Gucci watch With the bezel sounds so sophisticated and high class! I like icon_biggrin.gif

I'm sure whatever you wear, your wonderful personality will shine through. Good luck! Tell us how it goes. icon_biggrin.gif

Tell me, where are you heading to on a date?

My suggestion is to stay away from all black. Find a nice spring/summer dress shirt and roll it up three quarters up. Wear a khaki colored chinos or other mineral color toned pants. Best option is a straight legged sans pleat look. I think dockers carry's some nice pants to your liking Even Perry Ellis has some nice stuff to your taste....

Oh and you can wear 'slip on shoes' as long as they aren't like grandpa looking loafers or boat shoes.
