I freakin' hate bees, they have no business setting up hives close enough to my home where my cell phone can kill them anyhow.

Too bad, apparently, it's not true.

Are you aware you could not live without bees?

Hum, but this wouldn't explain some other findings from massive bee deaths being that:

    1. Bee colonies continue to suffer mass deaths from an unknown cause until the hive is irradiated. This seems to suggest that the cause is a living pathogen.

    2. Colonies collapse because bees are dying outside the hive or never returning. The queen bee is normally still found in the hive along with food stores.

    3. The digestive system of dead bees have been found to be completely trashed - in some cases, all that's left is mush. The cause also seems to suppress the immune system of the bees affecting memory and communication.

It's a very interesting and mysterious phenomenon, and very important too. Here's a wiki article about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colony_collapse_disorder

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidIt really is not a laughing matter, if bees were to cease to exist pollination of so many fruit orchards and food crops would not occur and thus significantly and negatively impact our agricultural production and could really fuck us up.

Bees truly are our friends and we depend on them greatly.

Agreed. Once the bees go, we go four years after.

The article was saying that mobile phones placed near or in a hive kill bees. I am not an expert at all in this area, but to me it doesn't seem consistent with the cause of colony collapse disorder (resulting in mass death of bees across entire countries) because there have been reports that hives that suffered colony collapse disorder no longer suffered it once the hives were irradiated. This would suggest some sort of living pathogen, but the mystery is as to what that pathogen is.

    No, you could not.

Go study the phenomena called "ecosystem" and "food chain".

We're all part of the circle of life. Without the mosqs & cocks (lol, ok serious now), many animals will lose a vital food source.

Like OMG, I hate bees! They are so annoying and evil. Like, why would you even post this, OP? Who cares if a bunch of stupid bees are dying? That's what they get for stinging me when I was 3. Good riddance.

Now if only we could stop farmers from using manure on all of their stuff. I mean, it really stinks up the valley near my place every night. Like seriously. When I'm going out to the club at night, driving through that area in my honking huge awesome SUV is really tough. I have to keep the windows closed the whole time! And what does manure do anyways? It just stinks, as far as I can tell.

And god, everyone in Canada won't shut up about that stupid pine beetle. For god's sakes, just cut down all of the trees already, that way the beetles won't have anything to eat and they'll die. Problem solved. Can we move on already?

I'd really like to watch more of that new Hunks program on TV, or Big Brother Season 86. Not news about stupid bees and pine beetles! I better go. I have to shut my windows because the manure smell clung to my SUV and it's coming through my windows. Like, OMG already!
