I have started a thread for the last couple of years getting the conversation about gay days. Maybe some of other Orlando RealJocks have tips they want to share with RJ visitors?

My favorite event is Typhoon Lagoon on Friday night and that is really the only event I have on the radar at this moment.....though I am pretty certain I will make it to a pool party on Saturday.

Who else is coming to Orlando for Gay Days this year?

    It wasnt very positive.

If you count not positive as being in a waterpark with hundreds of hot men in minimal clothing then you'll have a terrible time. Don't go.

I'm going this year for the first time and am deliriously excited! Can't wait for Riptide and Matinee...and Tunnel too! I'm doing the mostly-nocturnal plan, I think. icon_smile.gif

I'm going! We were lucky enough to get a room at the host hotel so I'll be going to most of the events there. Typhoon Lagoon, and then venture out into the rest of Orlando to hit up P-House and Pulse for their gay days celebrations.

I'm going this year, staying at the Doubletree again... will probably hit up the same events and pool parties at the DT we did last year, perhaps try to hit up the parks a bit more. Did the Typhoon Lagoon thing last year may take a pass on it wasn't my thing. All depends on what my friends are doing.. we got a block of rooms overlooking the pool, so will take a lot of advantage of that.

I absolutely love Typhoon Lagoon. My favorite is the "wave pool" and watching hundreds of muscle dudes screaming like girls when a wave is released. icon_biggrin.gif

I LOVE Disney World. My mom and I try to go every year, but obviously school and costs tend to get in the way. icon_sad.gif

But as far as Gay Days go, while my mom has recommended it, based on what I've heard it's not exactly a time I'd want to go. I go to Disney to enjoy the atmosphere that reminds me of my childhood, to be in the happiest place on Earth. What I do NOT want to be reminded of is why many Conservatives call us insatiable sex fiends! I do NOT want to be in the sluttiest place on Earth! There's a time and a place, and it's pretty much gone the path of our Pride festivals: Well-meaning activism and promoting acceptance and tolerance, as well as showing closeted folks that it's ok, to just going around half-naked and coming very close to oral sex in the streets.

Should be great this year, the host hotel Buena Vista Palace is back this year again, Mark Baker has some cool stuff planned, the pool parties at the BVP are going to be awesome - some great DJs covering them. Riptide at Typhoon Lagoon will be great as usual, it's usually the best party of the weekend. The after parties will be at the BVP this year which will be great for the hotel guests, you'll be able to come and go as you please, so for those who'd like to keep drinking, they can make trips back to their room and go back to the party. The Universal party was great last year, so no doubt it'll be the same again this year.

For those who won't be doing the typhoon lagoon party, the new club in town, Mr. Sisters will have Kelly Rowland performing on Friday night as well.

Yes it will be very interesting since the almighty Parliament House has some formidable competition from the new club on the block - Mr. Sisters which, as OrlFlMuscle said has Kelly Rowland on Friday night as well as Deborah Cox on Saturday.

Parliament House will have Salt n Pepa on Sat night and Kat DeLuna on Sunday.

I was just in Orlando last week, but I'm going back again in a few weeks...I didn't know Gay Days was that week, so maybe I'll have to go!

Does Gay Days occur around the same time every year? My birthday is during that period, so maybe I'll treat myself next year.

We're going to have to keep it simple, we're just going to go to the parks on Saturday and Sunday. We have to. Money's tight and we have work on both Friday and Monday. Such is the bane of living outside of Orlando. I've gone to GayDays in Cali several times. Should be fun to try it out here. See you there?

    Peace,
    Bardy

The great thing about the whole GayDays/Wonder World weekend in Orlando is that there's something for everyone, from circuit parties, to events for gay families with children, red shirts at Disney, the bears have their own events, lesbians have a host hotel and events, some how all the different groups and events gel together and seem to work together to offer a great experience for everyone.

    Thank you.

It'll give me a chance to go to Disney World. I wonder how much has changed since 1989.
