Was actually curious about crossfit, one opened up recently around the corner from me but I've been hesitant to give it a try.

It seems intimidating as hell to me, may have to drop by there soon though

Don't be intimidated by the workouts and members!!! Crossfit workouts are scaled to your level of fitness and abilities. You will find all ages, sizes, and health goals in crossfit gyms. Crossfit is between you and the clock icon_smile.gif Try to beat the clock while improve your fitness level. I am fortunate to be in a box where there are plenty of amazing athletes -- great inspirational source. I made many great new friends that we constantly motivate each other to grow as an "athlete" and individual.

I consider myself primarily an endurance athlete. I lack upper body strength. I always feel inferior because of it.... but, I am never made to feel that I don't belong in the gym. Completing a crossfit workout as prescribed or scaled is already a good accomplishment. I have gotten better with time, learning new skills that I never thought I could do in my old age icon_smile.gif -- mainly gymnastic skills. It is so much fun. I can't wait the day I can do handstand walks icon_smile.gif without breaking my neck LOL ....

Crossfit trainers are amazing -- great mentors .... Where are you in SoCal? My fav trainer just moved to San Diego. Amazing trainer! I know where he is coaching now... let me know... and I will give you the info.

You should checkout the Crossfit Games end of July to see world class athletes and teams competing .... at Carson, California.

In short -- don't make up silly excuses for not trying crossfit out. Set up an appointment ... try it out. You will find out whether you will drink the crossfit kool-aide or not icon_smile.gif

    have fun training!

I totally understand about the time issue. This month alone there were at least 4 of my crossfit peers graduated from their grad degree -- active in crossfit and also most married. So, I think you can do it as well. I travel far to my gym and commute an hour to work afterwards. So, if I can d it, you could too icon_smile.gif

My former trainer now are at crossfit socal, http://www.crossfitsocal.com/ check them out. This crossfit gym was featured on SD local morning news early May in conjunction with Thor movie premiere. I tried to find that clip but it is not available now.

I hope you find the right crossfit gym.... enjoy!

Usually pretty damp at the end of the xfit workouts I do. WODs (workout of the day) vary in time (sometimes dramatically) I would try it before you critique the details of a produced video.
