Do people get enjoyment from making all of these end of the world prophecies?

I'm sitting here watching this show about megaquakes on the history channel because I'm really entrigued by geology and they say that we're due for a 10.0 quake some time soon...It's so annoying, first this damn 2012 thing, then a megatsunami, then a megaquake, then a solar's like one thing after another and the sad part is people believe things like this then go and do things like take their lives or (I read this a while ago) even go as far as spend their life savings just to buy a plot of land on Mt. Kilamanjaro for 2012....I know disasters do happen and I know they always will but I am not trying to think about whether I'm gonna die next week, next month or the next minute. Even if it is true, why f**k up my last few days with the news?? I know I'm not the only one who feels this way...icon_evil.gif

I think it's awesome. I'm checking Craigslist for people selling/giving away their stuff in preparation for the end of the world. Hopefully, I'll score a flat screen TV for cheap. icon_lol.gif

No one can predict the future.
People in the religion business---it is a business---prey on weak people who are looking for help or looking for answers, make them feel guilty, lie to them, and separate them from their cash.

    I'm a realist.
I have absolutely no doubt what so ever that I'll be here on May 22nd.
And, you will be here, too.
In fact, I'd love to hear from anybody who has noticed somebody suddenly missing.

5ebastian saidBTW if it were the end of the world, i would not spend my life-savings on a plot to sit on Mt. Kilamanjaro. This sounds horrible but Id just wanna be done with it [if most of civilization and organisms were wiped out]

I wish I could remember where I heard that and I'm actually looking for the story now, but the real issue for that guy is gonna come if nothing happens..he'll be pissed, demand a refund, file a lawsuit, won't win and it'll be a long and drawn out problem...
