I think he realized that his personal baggage would not fly well with social conservatives, and so he did do the right thing. If he did end up being a final candidate I would have given him a try.

    For Immediate Release:

New York, New York: May 16, 2011

After considerable deliberation and reflection, I have decided not to pursue the office of the Presidency...

    Donald J. Trump
    Michael Cohen
    Executive Vice President and
Special Counsel To Donald J. Trump

    Good riddance.

This probably comes to no big surprise to anyone. Regardless, Donald Trump will be far more effective during the election campaign as a non-candidate who can, and surely will, be out there saying things that others are thinking but few politicians dare say. I'm glad he's not running, but you will still be hearing a lot from The Donald

Ridiculous..... the idea he would ever be considered a viable candidate based on his recent behavior is warped. Glad he's gone. He added very little (and I'm being nice) to the field.

But I will if Santorum were to somehow wind up being the GOP presidential candidate.

I don't think you have to worry about that. I predict that Santorum's campaign will fizzle pretty quickly, as will Newt Gingrich's.

I can't believe anyone would actually believe he would run in the first place.. it's all about the show and self-promotion

He learned from the best; quote PJ Barnum ; there's a sucker born every minute

    Are you crazy ?
He was nearly 100% socially conservative.
Plus, only a racist or/and a nut case would pursue the birther nonsense.
And, the Republicans simply ignore the personal baggage of their candidates.
    Just look at Newty.
Right now, he's your #1 guy.

I knew it - he LOVES the attention but doesnt want to subject himself to scrutiny. Great article in NY times recently about ppl getting hosed when the Trump residences are stopped in construction and they lose their deposits. And find out ole Donald was just getting a 10% license fee and didnt OWN any of them!
