Ok, so I will be graduating high school this year! (yay) And here is the problem. Our school requires four people to walk the grad ceremony. Me and my best friend are walking for sure. One of my acquaintances from my class asked me if she can walk with us....now, knowing that it was just me and my friend, I thought it was ok, but before I said anything else I wanted to make sure it was fine with my best friend, so I told her, "I'm not sure but I'll talk to my friend, but you might be able to." So, I go to my friend and ask her if she can walk with us, but I find out that she already got two other people signed up and turned the contract in. I didn't know this. I told my acquaintance this and she got upset. She wasn't mean but she was very passive and it was clear she was upset over it. I feel terrible about this whole thing. I asked her if she found another group but she had no luck. I'm trying to do my best to not leave her feeling left out but I think everyone established a group. I don't know what else to do. I didn't mean for this to blow out of proportion. What would you do in a situation like this?

    Gracias.

You did things correctly and owe her nothing. You advised her that you could not unilaterally approve her walking with you and your friend, and you told her immediately when you found out the foursome was full. Feel badly for her, but don't feel guilty.
