    Well, Azerbaijan won.

This contest has sucked for a long time. It's definitely nothing to take seriously. However, I suppose you can have fun making fun of it because 99% of the acts are horrible from the cheesy costumes to the horrible accents in English (especially from Slavic participants) to the obvious regional voting blocs.

Usually every year I'm able to find two or three songs I like (which, of course, never make the final because real music never wins, ha). But this year there wasn't a single entry I cared for. Nothing stood out or grabbed my attention.

This contest has become Anglovision. Very few entries were sung in their native language, which most artists should do because they would sound better.

And you became a judge of others' music how??? Your profile doesn't mention having any particular musical talent yourself.
Guess you MIGHT have started your post by saying: "In my opinion..."

Have you ever even watched the Eurovision Song Contest?

Congrats to Azerbaijan, though Hungary was my favorite, I was going to try to go to next year's Contest (because I'm moving to the UK) but because it will be in Azerbaijan (Baku I'm assuming) it will be hard to get a visa so I don't think I will be able to make it :-(

I've watched it every year since 2001, hence why I'm so critical of it, haha. This year was the first time I didn't bother to watch it.

I will admit that Azerbaijan's entry sounded much better live than the studio version.

I would've liked Sweden's entry if only the backup singers didn't overpower him.

I still wish more participants would sing in their native language rather than English, though. Many of the artists sound better that way. Plus Europe is a multilingual continent, duh!

Hungary's song was a lot better in the studio (seeming more and more common in the music industry) and I do agree that the Azeri song sounded better live

I like when they do a mix of English and the native language

That is tolerable to an extent, but like I posted before, this isn't Anglovision :-p Otherwise, we might as well just stick with Pop Idol in the UK.
