The thing about Scotty is that he could have been cut weeks and weeks ago and he will STILL be the one that will probably have the biggest career. That a voice like that can come out of a 16/17 year old is astounding. Lauren is just another pretty blonde country singer, and she lacks the confidence to really sell a song -- probably due to her age (16). Haley has grown on me week after week. I'd actually be happy if any of them won, as they will all get recording contracts and do well. Definitely one of the best IDOL seasons for talent ever, but in my opinion none of them exhibit the raw showmanship of Adam Lambert.

I agree, Scotty is very good and will go on I think to be a country star. The other two I think are terrible. Neither has that great of a voice. The best in showmanship was Turbin and the judges wasted their 'keep card' on the little leprechaun as far as I'm concerned. He was talented yes, but not Idol material from the get go. I'm disappointed with how the votes have come in. Makes me wonder about the validity of the process and who really knows how many votes each person gets.

Haley is cute, but to me she came across as a phoney -- at best a commercial type -- nota genuine personality coming through. Lauren is sincere, but not much talent. I think Scotty has a great voice, a natural demeanor and a great personality. He'll go far!

Yeah, seriously. I don't get that from him at all. Considering how he seemed to get along fine with Jacob Lusk (who is obviously gay).

I guess because he has a southern accent and is religious, so that automatically makes him a homophobe. icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, Scotty was my favorite since the beginning, so I hope he wins. Lauren hasn't had any outstanding performances since her audition. I wasn't a fan of how rasy Haley's voice was, but I thought she had a lot of great performances. Amazing how she made the Top 3 after being in the Bottom 3 (and 2) several times.

I would've liked to see Haley in the finale with Scotty over Lauren though. Scotty is going to have a big career in country music. Sounds just like Josh Turner.

Ew. No one will remember who they are 6 months from now. They are all very talented, but none of them have that "it" factor that'll make them stand out.

However, the real star of this season is Pia (who got a record deal the day after she got voted off). Just watch.

I disagree -- Scotty is going to be a gigantic Country Artist. To have that voice at 17 years old is amazing.

yea .... but question: Would he be bigger than Carrie Underwood?

I mean, ..... the business is the business ..... right now, there's no space for him in the country industry ....

There are others dominating the charts, what does Scotty has that is gonna steal spot from the others?

I don't think he will be bigger than Carrie, because Carrie has that sound to her voice, where she can appeal to people who aren't fans of country music.

Scotty is more traditional country, but that doesn't mean he won't be a huge star. He could be the next Garth Brooks for all we know.

The thing Scotty has behind him is American Idol. There are plenty of non-country fans who watch the show, that may like him, so they will follow his career afterwards. He basically got a head start on the fame thanks to the show, just like the past Idol winners. People already know who they are, so it is easier for them to become popular than an artist no one has heard of, who is starting out from scratch. Even Kellie Pickler has a big following in the country scene, and she is a country singer from American Idol, that didn't even make the Top 3 of her season.

perhaps .... i might be wrong ... there's a lot of people that came out of American Idol who didn't make any difference later on .... and there's a lot of people who did without winning the title ....

    i guess we'll see whats up icon_razz.gif

I think it's all relative. Yes, "American Idol" offers them a platform that can catapult them to fame. But there is nothing "easy" about being on "American Idol". Just getting through the auditions to make it on the show is a grueling experience. Then once they are on the show, the pressure is immense. These kids, some of them 15, 16, and 17, are thrust into the limelight performing live in front of 20 million people. Not everyone can handle that kind of pressure.

This season just sucked. The ones with true star potential went home earlier than they should have: James and Pia.

Haley is just horrible, absolutely unlistenable. Her growling is just not needed in "singing" a song and her performances were reminiscent of a 12-year-old in a talent show at school. She should not have been in the top 24.

Lauren is sweet, cute, and has a really good voice. She just doesn't have the confidence to exude star quality. Watch, when this is over, she'll lose about 30 lbs, get some confidence coaching, convey a sexier image, and soar both in country and pop. But...she'll disappear quickly and a fairly mediocre career after that.

Scotty is a great talent, but his voice limits him. He will be big in country, but only country. He will have almost zero crossover potential, just like George Strait and Alan Jackson. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but that is not American Idol. He'll have the longest-term career.

Regarding James and Pia, if they play their cards right, they could really become two of the most successful Idol contestants ever. James needs to choose the right genre, the right songs, and just continue to be himself. Pia needs to collaborate with the right people in the industry from songwriters, producers, and other artists. The talent and image is there almost like no other prior Idol contestant before so Idol really needs to nurture this to be able to tie-in contestants' successes to the show.

I would also say that Jovani, who was cut early, can help Idol penetrate the Latin market. He has the potential to sing like Marc Antony and Luis Fonsi, and looks better than both. Hopefully, a Latin producer within the Idol network has seen this and will nurture his career, with the tie-in to Idol.

I'm really disappointed in Stefano. After he sang to save himself on the wild card show, I really thought he could take it all the way to the top3. But, he really tried too hard and each performance just seemed to get worse and worse. His niche is gospel/soul R&B, but that is not what is relevant today, especially for his age group. If he plays his cards right and finds an R&B producer who can help him find a place in contemporary hip hop, he might have a chance at a career in the business.

IK I'm so pissed, stupid teenyboppers, I hope Scotty wins tho as I can't stand Lauren and I don't buy her tryin-to-act-cute act and when she said to Lady GaGa that she didn't wanna say the word evil MAJORicon_rolleyes.gif
