i once asked my Godmother, a native uptown new orleans "gibson girl" type, why she didn't travel more. she certainly had the health and the financial means to do/go anywhere here big heart desired.

she looked at me over her tea cup and replied, somewhat haughtily: "mahh child, WAHHHYYY should ah travel to some foreign city and be forced to eat bland food, drink weak coffee and leave a bar at some obscure closing tahmmm? LOOK AH-ROUND, mahh child, this is NEW ORLEANS! wahhyy travel? AH AM ALREADY HE-AHHHH!!

the older i become the more i agree with her.

haha, as much as I Iove New Orleans... there's plenty of places to find good food, good coffee and a late bar just in central or southern America icon_razz.gif. Shit, I could stay in Miami for that! LOL

But I definitely can't imagine a better mardi gras

Travel is my favorite hobby, and I always tell people when they ask "What is your favorite city" that there's no way to pick ONE favorite place. Every place you ever go has something so unique and special and memorable about it.

That said, I'll list some of the places that have left a strong impression on me: Bangkok, Rome, Venice, Cuzco, San Francisco, New York City, Marrakech, Barcelona, Paris, and Dublin.

I dont travel outside the US much. I have been to every major city in the US. For me, the ones I would go back to are:

    Austin, Miami and San Francisco.

In the US, my favorite cities are Philadelphia and Atlanta. I've been to both cities a few times and had a blast each time. Although I definitely want to visit place in the West eventually.

As for international locations, I really like Nizhny Novgorod, Russia and Sevilla and Santander both in Spain.

On my own, Sydney, but there was a lot of sneaking off on my own to get to the fun places, but hey, that's half the adventure!
