RJ has a few, not sure they'll see your post today, a Sunday in the Americas and Europe. Not a doctor myself, but that sounds like something that a doctor should see immediately. In fact, you might consider a visit to the ER or clinic today, where it's already Monday, correct? Is there one on the island where you are? I wouldn't delay this, do it first thing in the morning.

Doctors here suck BIG time, i heard real rumors that the stupid doctors actually have few casualities due to wrong drugs they give to ppl, or wrong advices.....so right now im scared.....and yes, im goin to get it checked later...one major stupid thing my parents didn't do for me, GETTING ME A FUCKING CRUTCH!, they were preaching how they didn't get crutches on their time; i was like in my head: "WTF?! I DONT NEED THAT SHIT, I FUCKING SERIOUSLY NEED A CRUTCH NOW! MY SIDES AND FEET HURTS REALLLLLLLLY bad now.". the pain really hurts.. i didn't know that Flea bites are that painful in the end..(the bite healed, but outta nowhere, that bite turned into a infection, i really don't know why. b4 it did that, i always placed an antibacterial cream/anti-itch and washed it and so forth)...now i really can't bear the pain, i can't even sleep due to the pain, my head is kinda hurting now too....now the pain has reached near my thighs(where the little nodule pain was), so right now, i'm REALLY trying hard not to scream cuz of the pain... I'm goin craaazy that i want to screaaam!. FUCK MY LIFE!. icon_evil.gificon_cry.gif . and yes, i didnt do all of the whiny attitude (crying and shit)........

Whether doctors suck or not, you really have no choice but to see one there, ASAP. A doctor here can't cure you, nor can you cure yourself, since you likely need antibiotics and/or other meds, and possibly more. Plus you may have an infection which is more common in your climate than what doctors might see in northern temperate zones. DO NOT DELAY!

In the meantime, I wish I knew what to tell you regarding whether to apply heat or cold, or nothing, elevate your leg or not, and if you should take simple painkillers. Is there a doctor in the house?

You really have me concerned, and your pain & distress upset me. In the meantime, I don't think taking Tylenol/acetaminophen to ease some of your discomfort would be harmful.

Are the infected foot & leg warmer than the others, colder, or the same?

Sounds like you have a cellulitis. You need antibiotics. I would urge you to set preconceptions about medical care aside and go to an emergency treatment clinic immediately.

OK, Kiwi, have you seen a doctor yet, and what's the verdict? We all hope everything's going better now. Please answer if you can.

    I'm a Doctor.

I would suggest you follow the above advice of going to see a doctor in person as they can treat you! Online we are not very much use, particularly when given a vague description and called stupid.

If your pain is worsening and you are having fever/rigors and/or there is spreading reddness etc., I would suggest going today.

I was bitten by a spider in September and it turned into cellulitis. I ended up swelling from my ankle to my knee and then beyond. I had an IV for 2 days followed up by some strong antibiotics. Do what the others have suggested here as I almost lost my leg by not going to the Doctor when I should have.

I don't think the doctors in here are comfortable enough to advise you for any treatment. We have to look into a number of things before making a diagnosis and coming up with a treatment plan. I'm comfortable advising you to go to the nearest Emergency Department and have yourself evaluated.

If you have a leg infection and its spreading and causing pain you need to get antibiotics and maybe stay in the hospital for them. Go to your local ER today.

Also to the RJ Doctors (medical students and residents too).. identifying yourself as a doctor when you offer up medical advice online opens you up to liability, I wouldn't be offering up that you are a doc just let them draw the conclusion if need be.

For instance if you identify if yourself as a doctor (or in my case psychologist) to someone who is suicidal, you have an ethical obligation to call the police to get them into a hospital... but you can't really call them and be like "yeah so and so567 lives in New York City and he's suicidal! It's just best to avoid airing your credentials.icon_rolleyes.gif More than a few psychologists have lost their licenses over this, that is why I mention it.

feeling coldness and chills is unusual though and not a good sign. It has most likely become systemic, and could get a lot worse without treatment.

I think he passed out from whatever over-self-medication he was doing. Just as well, really.

It would be impossible to diagnose you without seeing you. From your description of symptoms, you need to be seen by medical personnel in your area. I would urge you to go to a ER right away.

Go to the emergency room ASAP! Like others have mentioned you might have cellulitis and are in need of immediate medical attention and antibiotics. If it is cellulitis and it gets out of hand it could go systemic. When it becomes systemic, this would be called sepsis and it is life threatening.

Though I am not an MD, I am in nursing school and work as a clinical tech in an ICU. I have seen first hand what happens when infections are not managed early.

Generalization of the doctor visit: the doctor injected me with an antibacteria shot(he did all the "first aid basics" after the shot), prescribed me an antibiotic and advised me to eat ALOT of Vit-C's, also, to rest and walk around for exercise(so the blood can circulate properly)..

Good, glad you went. With an infection, the longer you delay, the more damage it causes, the harder to cure. You did get the antibiotic prescription filled and are taking it, right? Please keep us informed how you're doing.
