Dunno, you'd have to be more specific.

In other news - the idea of shooting up rainbows makes me smile icon_smile.gif (Yeah, it's obnoxiously adorable)

depends on the song and well sometimes its like art, you gotta make your own interpretations about what you see or in this case hear

Adam Young is brilliant. Surprising he became a commercial success with his super-dorkiness and outlandish concepts in his early works. But never underestimate the power of a tacky sweater (See: the official music video on youtube for "Early Birdie" the first commercial single) and the sorcerer-cuteness ability to simultaneously make the gays AND the 13 year old teenie-boppers like you.

"Designer Skyline" is epic study music. The new track "Alligator Sky" with the rapping and such is an epic long distance second-wind running song. Everything else is good. Like Zero 7, but more dreamy and science-fiction outlandish. A/K/A awesome!

He is really Christian religious in his personal life though. Big turn off. BIG turn off.

If you played enough Pokemon, knew how to work with clay, rode the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney, and read Greek mythology as a kid ... you have the intellectual capacity to figure out what's going on in the songs - crafting bullshit and couching it in radio friendly (and family friendly) rhymes, add in a pinch of homoeroticism, and poof you are done.

Owatonna, Minnesota. It is outside the MPL metroplex. That is where Adam Young is from and he lived in his parents' basement creating songs after his day shifts at the UPS sorting facility. He had insomnia and a lot of free time on his hands. Apparently not enough to figure out the cult that is Christianity, but enough to learn how to hit keys on the piano and sing things in tandem. I will take what I can get haha.

to the OP - I used to say the same about Duran Duran when I was a kid...and then I just chocked it all up to art. ;-) After that, I could appreciate the music more.

He's talented no doubt. I wish he would have been more gracious towards The Postal Service, who he lifted so much of his content from.

I must say that Owl City's version of In Christ Alone is one of my favorite versions of that song. The Fireflies song isn't bad either.

Thats cool. I love Owl City. I think his lyrics are very punn-y and creative and the tune is very different than most popular stuff

Hey, you're NEVER too old to learn to like new things!!! I frakkin' LOVE Owl City!!! And I'm 49 years old.
After a boy almost 35 years younger than me (who had a major crush on me... but we won't go there...), sent me the same video of Fireflies, and a couple others, I am a MAJOR fan of Adam Young's music... he says he was influenced by Disco, and euro-dance, pop, and a few other styles... And as long as he doesn't start adding any surrepticious hints about christianity into his music, etc., I can overlook his religious fanaticism... I downloaded about 2 hours of his music from iTunes awhile back, and can't get enough of it, even listening to it while i work out.... it's just good, catchy, pithy lyrics and melodies, nothing dark....
