    http://www.aim.org/don-irvine-blog/poll-fox-most-trusted-political-news-source/

Liberals received some more bad news this week as a new Suffolk University poll revealed that Fox News is the most trusted political news source among those surveyed.

    FOX News – 28%

    CNN – 18%

    Undecided -12%

    NBC – 10%

    Other -10%

    MSNBC — 7%

    ABC — 6%

    CBS — 6%

    C-SPAN — 3%

For CNN the poll was a little bit of good news at a time the network is struggling with it’s primetime lineup, and after they received a black-eye this week for omitting former New York governor and current CNN host Eliot Spitzer from a story on political sex scandals.

The news wasn’t so good for MSNBC which finished a distant third to its cable news brethren with just 7% of respondents saying that they trusted the liberal cable news network.

It’s true that part of the explanation for these results is that the only network that conservatives find their viewpoint fairly represented is on the Fox News Channel, but maybe airing all that one-sided programming bashing conservatives isn’t so good for the other networks after all.

You got that right TT !!!

It may be the most trusted among far righters, Tbaggers and the non reading public who buy into the 24 hours talking heads news cycle, but it certainly isn't the most trusted among readers like myself that's for sure. I won't even waste my time watching any of them, Once in a while maybe NPR, otherwise I read from Right Wing Watch, Newsmax, OpEd, I get News alerts from Palin, Bachman, Family values Voters, Weiner, Bush, Obama, the Nation, Global Research, common dreams and several other far right and some Far left rags online.

I don't trust any of the Main Stream Media for the full story, especially with the bias influenced by AIPAC, we never do get the real story about the middle East with their influence so strong, I'd rather trust Al Jazeera.

Are you saying only the left have a right to freedom of speech not mater how hatful and insightful it may be? lets not forget you have promoted I should be murded, and that was fine here. But..........if i or anything that leaned to the right said it, OMG the choirs of screaming cats would be on demanding an apology, and stating how low of an act it was.

    LOL.
Well, what else would you expect from some whack job radical right wing pollster that nobody but Faux News has ever heard of ?
They probably only polled Faux News employees.

Very simple. Fox is continually disparaged here by the left. Shows that opinion is not shared. To the extent it is considered flamebait is further indication of the bias among some here.

Maybe you never heard of them, so that makes them nobody? And how do you know the pollster was some radical right winger? This is from a left wing website:

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/11/21/922378/-2010-In-Review:-The-Pollsters-and-Bias
One final set of data to peruse. Let's give a well earned shout-out to the pollsters that managed to get closest to the pin. What follows is the top five list of pollsters who were deemed "accurate" (within 3% in either direction) to the final result most often, as a percentage of their total polls:
    1. Suffolk University--54%
    2. Monmouth University--50%
    2. Quinnipiac--50%
    4. YouGov--45%
    5. Siena College--43%

Whether or not the Kos's analysis is correct, shows the reputation of Suffolk. Shows you shoot from the hip when you don't know what you are talking about.

The nature of propaganda is that for it to be effective the population must believe it. That doesn't mean that the propaganda is accurate or truthful.

Reflects a common attitude on the left. The population was so smart when they voted for hope and change, but whenever the population goes against a left wing position, they were obviously deluded. You know, the stupid, little people who cling to their guns and religion.

Trusted and accurate are two completely different things. Nazi propaganda was "trusted" in Germany at one time, too.

We see plenty of evidence of this on RJ. They can’t be content and accept that reasonable people can disagree. If you dare disagree with the left, it’s that you must be stupid, delusional, self hating, etc. There’s nothing remotely liberal about the left.

None of the above. I actually get almost all my US news through foreign agencies. BBC, Guardian, El País, RT, and El Universal are my favorites icon_biggrin.gif

Probably the most hilarious post I have seen here at RJ for a while. Tim, it's only "flame bait" to the people who would make it that way. You know, people like yourself for instance. :-) If the news source at the top of that poll was any other news source other than FOX NEWS, I seriously doubt you would have posted anything. Regardless, polls are ridiculous. I'm sure there are polls out there that skew the complete opposite direction with FOX NEWS at the bottom.

Incorrect. The people who elected Obama ARE NOT Faux News viewers. Please review the demographics of the electorate in 2008.

Me too. I watch very little US TV for issues on foreign policy and international news where BBC and al-Jazeera often presents the best reports. PBS is another favorite of mine for international and national news.

The public now turns towards news sources who give them what they want to hear. Neutral and unbiased is no longer a requisite for news reporting. Otherwise PBS NewsHour would be the most trusted.

The problem with Fox geezer is not the left just disagreeing, but of the basic lies forwarded by Fox, such as the new health care will kill granny, that obama is racist against whites (Beck), that Obama wasn't born in the US. Beck is one of the standard barrers for the lies forwarded and fear mongering, but finally fox has woke up, so are getting rid of him. If Fox doesn't directly lie, it does its level best to twist the truth and that is where the left is so down on Fox

This is from a World Public Opinion:

The survey found that "substantial levels of misinformation were present in the daily consumers of all news sources." But Fox News viewers were significantly more likely to be misinformed than those who get their news from other sources. And, greater exposure to Fox News increased the degree to which viewers were misinformed.

Yeah, whatever. I don't believe this to be true what so ever. People of both political parties watch Fox News. It's a complete myth that it's just viewed by pro-Republican voters.

Did they ask the people in the poll if they thought professional wrestling was a real sport as well

No one ... But No one after all this time can stand there with a straight face face say that FOX news is a real news organization

Just because Fox News has been voted, according to this poll, as the most trusted, doesn't mean it is the most truthful.

A con man has people trusting him.

In all honesty CuriousJ, and GQ, do you spend much time watching News? do you really get that much from FOX, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC ? All of these are to me just a lot of talking heads who really aren't giving us the real news but their opinions of the news. There's so much friction and dwelling on trivia that I quit watching all of them,
