SOUTHERN KANSAS UNDER "HIGH RISK" OF TORNADOES TODAY: Weather people say 90% chance of a tornado.

    The "high risk" category is rarely used. We pay attention when this happens... I remember we were in this category when the huge tornado smacked Andover 20 years ago. With the horror in Joplin, Mo, most are on edge today.

    This part of the country has been pretty lucky so far this year, I think our luck is up.

    I heard it on the news early today ,and i was like , AGAIN !!!!! .....
    Hopefully this time nothing will happen , and it would only have been a false alarm ..
    Anyway good luck for everybody in Kansas ....

    A damned horror show......

    Actually when I watched the F-5 tornado crush Andover in 1991, it was a freaky think.. since it sounded like a B-1 bomber.. like a machine.
    It was like something I've never seen or imagined... and when I saw the utter destructon.....

    Joplin is worse.

    Yeah tornadoes are no joke...I dont know why anyone would ever wanna chase them. In April our area was hit by an F3 or 4 and it leveled this trailer park and a few nearby towns....Ive heard of tornado warnings and watches but that was the first time Ive heard of a tornado emergency...I guess that surpasses a warning and a watch...
