    NY-26 HOUSE Votes
    Corwin (R) 42%
    39,468
    Davis (Tea) 9%
    8,152
    Hochul (D) 48%
    44,813
    Murphy (G) 1%

    42+9> 48

It's pretty clear what the Republicans need to do. The Tea Party has to go.

This will be good the GOP because there will be no more Tea Party candidates independent of the (R) candidates.

They're not going anywhere. This is the implosion of the Republican Party.

They can't pick a candidate for president.

If they move away from the Ryan plan, they'll be primaried.

Perhaps the Tea Party will move into a separate party but it will still suck votes from the Republicans.

Damn !!!!! this is such a good sign of the Pendulum swinging away from the far right !!! OH how I wish that politics would just stay in the middle instead of such violent far right swings. I'm still not convinced that things ever went very far left after Bush with Obama's presidency.

As I predicted last Dec 18, the Repugs are going to have their asses handed to them on a plate.

never assume...the forecast looks like the Republicans have a good chance to take over the senate in 2012. Still too early to tell...but they have a good chance to if they drop the idea of getting rid of medicare or s.s. (so stupid of them to push that in the first place.) They should officially change their party name to Republican Inc.

    They would never do that.

    That would be honest.

And republicans are many things...but honest is not one of them.

From a post I read on HuffingtonPost, Hochul did very well in a district that was heavily GOP. Even if Davis's percentage points were given to Corwin for that district, the margin Corwin would've led by still paled in comparison to what was expected of her.

I would like to thank Saint Paul Ryan for blessing the United States with another Democratic representative.

I am not assuming. I am predicting. And I maintain my prediction. No one will trust them now. And especially not after the dirty dealing in Wisconsin. The Repugs are toast.

    This is HUGE.
This was a Republican candidate LOSING a "safe" Republican seat.
While Republican candidates cling tenaciously to the "Ryan Budget Plan" to end Social Security and Medicare, one by one, they will see their asses handed to them at the polls.

    Hooray for our side.
    Obama reelected in a landslide.
    Democrats hold the Senate.
    Democrats retake the House !

    You are correct.
But, the Republicans trying to kill Medicare and Social Security, coupled with the monkey shines in Wisconsin, should give that pendulum a big shove to the left.

Gesh...it is almost as if they don't know who votes for them. A big chunk of the people voting for Republicans are elderly.....what they heck are they thinking...

With all the redistricting that was happening and the fact that this republican had the seat for 20 or so years it was inevitable that the voters would try something new and some point in time. This isn't very surprising, nor was it some major victory at all.

You are confused. Guess being the official RJ reporter does not give you sufficient time to analyze the issues in depth. The Republican plan will save medicare. The Democrats will let it go on as usual until it collapses. But fear not, this message will get out and will be articulated forcefully. You'll probably have a harder time finding left-wing spin sites to quote, but I'm sure you will give it the good old college try.

LMAO!!! You either didn't read your own link, and the video it contained, or you totally failed to understand it. Joe Klein was using sarcasm. Uh-oh! icon_redface.gif

But good link, I encourage others here to visit it, and listen to what the clip REALLY says. Not what you thought at all -- very far from what you thought. hehehe... too funny! icon_lol.gif
