    Is writing 'Love you' in a text message the same as actually vocalising the words 'I love you' face-to-face?

    Depends on the context, but obviously face to face is always preferred and more meaningful

    It's the same thing with a handwritten letter vs email. Handwritten letter takes more time and is more personal

    Nope, especially if you omit the "I" in "I love you".

    Just saying "love you" sounds too much like "love ya bitch see ya at the club next week hollah heeeeey!". OK maybe not as bitchy queen as that but it doesn't quite sound like you're reserving a space to unequivocally tell the person "Hey, I love you."
