Did anyone see this article on Yahoo about Speedo's controversial new swimsuits? People are breaking records with them left and right.

I was listening to a report about this on All Things Considered, and I really agree with one of the commentators when he noted that this was little different than a pole vaulter using the latest technology to get an edge.

Here in SF, these suits are used during the rainy season to help folks walk to work much faster.

That makes a lot of sense to me. When you think of it that way, you find opportunites for technological advantages all over sports: golf clubs, tennis rackets, running shoes, baseball bats, etc. And then there are those yachts...

As for the pics: I didn't realize so much of the suit was see-through.

Considering that you can see a complete outline of his penis, I don't think porn movies are going to come a'-callin'.

Michael Phelps has tattoos on his hips! icon_eek.gif
Not that I am shocked about it, its just that I can see them. icon_biggrin.gif

I agree though it is not the swimmers ability that has made them faster, it is the swimsuit. If one person is wearing it, they should all have to wear it. No unfair advantages!
