Yours truly loves music and has to have the right booty-shaking, stomach-churning aggro rock/electro to workout properly. I always see people at the gym doin the headphones thing and I wonder What are you listening to when you workout? Is it something calm and relaxing? Some hits from the club? Some D&B?
    ???

(Yours truly is working out to that Crunk, ATL Sound; Beyonce's GMB-XM; Prodigy's last album; and Missy Eliot.)

    I **love** Kelis' "Blindfold Me"

"When he wanted he blindfold me! Then I get SEXY ON, I get SEXY ON! ..."

It's sooooo energetic and danceable :)

There is a "Favorite workout songs" thread too...

I usually listen to either some punk rock, like the Donnas or Dresden Dolls, some pop music like Pet Shop Boys or Towa Tei, or rock like Garbage.

I want music that is going to psych me up and get me aggressive so that I can push myself.

My mp3 player died recently (OK, I poured coffee on it.) So I've been using Pandora and at some point it started including some of Madonna's 2005 "Confessions on a Dance Floor" album on one of my stations.

I've never owned a Madonna album in my life, and it was with hesitation that I finally admitted I really liked the songs it was playing.

    Now I'm playing it non-stop.

Pandora does rock but I prefer Live365.com & I use it for working out, meditation, yoga, since they have stations for just about any taste. I also like listening to Air America Radio online while working out at home.

I am currently also enjoying Erasure's new album: "Light at the End of the World" while working out.

Pandora, how cool is that! I use Rhapsody at home, but it's not free like Pandora. At the gym I've got a workout playlist on my iPod that includes Beyonce, Britney, Justin, Christina, Cher, Jason Mraz. In other words, I'm a cliche.

ChicGymGeek: I haven't been in the mood lately, but I do listen to Dillinger, Norma Jean, Every time I die, etc. Even some Static X every now and again (keep disco evil!)

I start each eliptical session with "Ball of Confusion" by The Temptations. Greatest groove ever written.

Usually something with a beat. The Clash, Mindless Self Indulgence, say anything, Talking Heads. Where the whole song has a beat not just the percussion, all the instruments uses missing notes to create a driving sense.

Now, I personally listen to everything, but Destiny's Child is my all-time favorite.

Therefore, EVERY workout mix I make has Lose My Breath on it hehehe

But honestly. Rihanna's new CD is ridiculously awesome.

You said somethin you could groove to?

"Dont Stop The Music" is your new jam then...

    Check it out href="http://www.realjock.com/profileaudio/54891/">here

RadioHead is nice and chill, and Nirvana. The Killers rule (yeah thats right I said it.) and The Bravery has an amazing newer Style of music worth checking out. Try An Honest Mistake or Out of line. Lastly T.I. Big things popin.

I go in phases... where I find a band or two that I like, and just listen to them over and over until I get tired of them and move on. I hate it!

Right now I've been listening to a lot of Muse. Their song City of Delusion always gets me super pumped before a workout.
