What features are you looking for in a gym membership. It really depends on what area your living like Anriodante asked. Also, how far are you willing to travel?

24 hour fitness has a lot of gyms everywhere around San Diego, and runs around 30 dollars a month.

There is a Baileys fitness, which I think is in the same price range, however it is not open 24 7, and there is only one location.

There is a gym downtown called fit, that has all brand new equipment, and is extremely nice, but I think it will run you around 99 a month.

If I were you, I would do the 24 hour, because no matter where you are there is a gym nearby with decent equipment.

Yeah you got your sprinkling of boutique gyms like Fit or Frog's, but that'll run you around 70-100 or more a month. 24 Hour is the bigger chain in SD, along with its bona fide Gay Gym location in Hillcrest. Really does depend where you are though, I loved going to LA Fitness because I lived in the South Bay and it was close, then moved to Poway and it was just around the street from me, but If you live near Downtown those two will be too far from you.
