Well, I think I would like to venture out and see what Miami and Ft.Lauderdale is like this coming weekend. I thought I would find a nice gay beach, if there is any and get a tan during the day? Then later in the evening go to gay bar. I am not sure if I want to go to a dance bar but a nice bar. .

I also would like to know if there is any gay volleyball or baseball teams?

    Thanks guys in advance icon_biggrin.gif

A gay beach in Fort Lauderdale is Sebastian. Where Sebastian Street dead-ends with A1A/Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd (some maps still show N Atlantic Blvd, but it's been renamed along that stretch). Google Map it.

An alternative is Haulover Beach, further south at Sunny Isles, just north of Miami Beach. It's clothing optional (mostly nude), the gay section at the far north end, where there's a fence across the beach.

Then go to Sebastian Beach. The least guys wear there are Speedos. There are over 20 gay resorts/guest houses nearby, this is where you will find gay men on the beach in Fort Lauderdale.

What kind of sports? That's a broad topic. The International Swimming Hall of Fame is not too far south of Sebastian, past Las Olas Blvd along A1A, and has an outdoor swimming pool. How long you gonna be here, and when?

You might consider renting a road bike, and pedaling around. Are you just visiting, or do you live in this area now?

There's nothing to do in South Florida.
    I'm not there.
    That's why. icon_razz.gif

Although Swimming is nice, I was looking more on the lines of volleyball and baseball. I was planing a day outing with overnight stay, that is the plan but one never knows?...... this weekend. Yes, I live in Florida.

hmmm... a tough order, at least for me. I'll have to defer on the volleyball or baseball, I can't think of a way a 1-day visitor can suddenly join in a game, unless it's something spontaneous on the beach, and that's unpredictable.

Also be aware that a lot of gay & straight places do not do single nights, having a minimum stay of 2 or more nights. If you find something for 1 night it may be pricey, especially on a weekend.

So do you have a place, or where do you wanna stay? Near the beach? Or near the gay nightlife? Will you have a car? I'm stumped regarding the sports aspect. I can put you into a gay gym, but organized sports... icon_question.gif

I thought being by the beach maybe even South Beach, but I individuals say it is crazy in that area? I dont have a place lined up as of yet, I plan on doing that tommorrow. Well, in regards to the sports that I like kknow about when and where it is. Then, be a spectator and if I like, I may join.

South Beach is no longer particularly gay, mostly straight midwesterner tourists and some Europeans, though the area remains generally gay friendly. You're asking for something that would be difficult anywhere -- sports events where you can walk up and join in. I suggest you Google like crazy, see what's happening, and contact them ASAP. There may be some pick-up volleyball games on the beaches, but those are spontaneous and unpredictable.

If you get over your being naked at the beach, they do have a volleyball net at Haulover which is usually in use by a combination of nude and clothed beach goers. But I suggest that you try being nude at the beach, you will quickly get over the inhibition. Once you try it, it seems so natural and the only way you should be at the shore. icon_biggrin.gif... Try it, you'll like it! Just bring your sunblock, especially for those sensitive areas!

Yeah, little shade at Haulover. A nice beach, actually, if you like undeveloped versus high rise hotels & condos towering over you. Yet there are still lifeguard stations, since it's a legally sanctioned clothing optional beach, about the only one in Florida.
