I appreciate all people I've met in my life both in person and online - their understanding, love and support has helped to encourage me, even the negative people because they've helped in contributing to my inner strength and my ability to become a fighter =)

i appreciate life.. the things that a lot of people don't seem to stop and think about. i can wake up in the morning and watch the sunrise, smell the rain, hear music playing and people laughing. i can feel when someone reaches out to touch me and i can taste the food that i'm fortunate enough to have..

yes, i'm glad that i have friends and family, money and food, but on a more basic level, i'm glad that i'm alive. it's a beautiful thing.

    1) I appreciate my new fence is finally done. Now I don't have to worry about it collapsing. It looks really beautiful too!

    2) I appreciate that my life is going well at the moment and my relationship with hubby is going extremely well now.

    3) I appreciate that my life is very drama-free right now! Yay! icon_smile.gif

    At the moment:

I appreciate that rockets land on other people's bedrooms and not my own.

I appreciate that I've never been hit by an IED unlike my teammates and friends

I appreciate first that we have internet out here and second that they didn't put a content filter on it. Less people get raped when people can watch porn.

There's a lot that I appreciate in my happy existence, but finding this site makes me even happier. icon_biggrin.gif No rip-offs ("give us $150 to actually send a message"), almost no attitude, and the MySpace style of real discussion threads mixed in with the "do you like the nose hair of the guy above you" silliness. And it's also not "pandering" by assuming we all have to see a guy's equipment on full display much less video clips of him playing with it. icon_rolleyes.gif

And I appreciate having had a three-day weekend complete with awesome summerlike weather, not forgetting the sacrifices everyone in the armed services has made and still does make. That I appreciate all the time (3 Army vets in the family - WWII, Korean Conflict, and peacetime.)

I am appreciative beyond measure of my 8yo daughter. She challenges me in both positive and negative ways, but I can't imagine life without her.

Secondly, I am enormously appreciative of my career as a pediatrician. As I say all the time, when I lay my head on the pillow at night, I know that some child is breathing easier because of me. THAT is, indeed, a good feeling.

I am appreciative that my boss doesn't have any work for me to do today. I'm just twirling thumbs right now....

And Eric for making this thread.

I am having a good day today. icon_biggrin.gif

I've been doing a lot of reflection lately. I'm very appreciative of my parents and the hard work it took them to immigrate to the US from the Philippines so my brother and I could have a better life and opportunities that we would never have had growing up in the Philippines.

I appreciate them instilling that same work ethic in me when I was younger (even though it hurt).

I appreciate what I've learned from devastating losses in my life.
That I can survive and be happy with what remains.
That my happiness is a choice I make.
That I can enjoy beauty without coveting it.
That the effort to fix something doesn't need to stand in the way of enjoying that which is already fixed or doesn't need fixing.
That what I do know doesn't make me better any more than what I don't know makes me less. I can learn what I don't know, and pass on what I do know.

I appreciate life, because without it, we wouldn't be here.
