Anybody else notice that a lot of "emotional" things are happening with folks on RJ?

We are a very emotional bunch.

I think we all need a group hug icon_smile.gif

It must be that in the waning months of the Bush administration people are getting introspective, emotional, and bracing for the change.

Damn, I wish there was an emoticon for sarcasm!

    We're all really high-strung, high-maintenance princesses.

Well, you guys are anyways, I'm certainly not.

Well you guys may be highly strung and emotional, but I am as cool as a cucumber. icon_cool.gif

Looking forward to 4 days of fun in NYC next week while enjoying the spring weather. Summer is coming, baseball has started, gay softball is less than a month away, what more could I ask for?

    Here is another hypothesis:

The RJ "forum community" has "matured" to the point that members are feeling sufficiently attached to each other that they are willing to speak very openly about their feelings.

I dont know if "forum community" members can experience this either: a frustration born from becoming attached to the community, yet unable to make that last physical link (and not in necessarily a sexual way). That is, the fulfullment of social interaction but it only exists on the computer and we cant take it out into other activities in our lives.

Just thoughts, I am not a sociologist or psychologist.

Ooooo....these could be interesting Masters research theses.

this is actually something we touched lightly on in one of my clsses this semester. this site is one of very few where people are exceptionally open about stuff. i'm gonna have to find my notes and elaborate on this.

I haven't noticed any change. The drama always puttered along at a certain level, and it still does.

She was staring out the window of that SUV
Complaning, saying "I can't wait to turn 18"
She said "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said "I was just like you"

    You're gonna miss this
    You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
    These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
    * * *
    Complimentary
    "You're Gonna Miss This"

    But you're gonna miss this

Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her "It's a nice place"
She says "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says "Baby, just slow down"

    Cause you're gonna miss this
    You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
    These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
[these lyrics are found on http://www.songlyrics.com]
    But you're gonna miss this

Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
    Dog's barkin', phone's ringin'
One kid's cryin', one kid's screamin'
    She keeps apologizin'
He says "They don't bother me.
I've got 2 babies of my own.
    One's 36, one's 23.
Huh, it's hard to believe, but ...

    You're gonna miss this
    You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
    These are some good times
So take a good look around
